Personally I don't care about the re-brand I don't care if away followings have dropped (I think a lot of us can blame other city fans for past exploits for that).

I've waited 47 years for real success to arrive and that time is nearly upon us.

Let's look at the past......... we have some saying football was better in the lower tiers ...what shite. I find it similar to some music fans following some obscure little band just to be different. Sold my soul? What utter nonsense ........I follow my home club for the last 47 years because they are Cardiff City. I'm not going to give up now because some nobody on a mb thinks he has the ear of the world listening to his pearls of wisdom.

If people aren't interested anymore good for them.....but why the incessant moaning? ffs it's been 8 months!

A lot of those who walked away were complaining about football in general anyway......well before the re-brand, it was another bandwagon to jump on.

swansea town have done their own thing these past 2 seasons and good luck to them....... let's remember they averaged 15k when they went up and it would of been much less but a surge in the last 8 games or so.I remember them often offering buy one ticket take 10 friends or something similar that season. We can be much better.

It's a bit rich other fans moaning about "foreign investment" take a look around lads......how many of us come or came from further afield?

We will always be unpopular but in time the club will change and has changed significantly......yesterday's chants and the scots guy experiences didn't help though. The sooner we weed these arseholes out the better.

47 years and it doesn't get much better.

One final note...and I won't go into much detail.......I will always respect Dave Jones taking us to Wembley three times. It beats Rochdale on a tuesday night....no matter what anyone says.

Re: 47 years

The OP has got to be the most sensible post on this forum for the last 8 months.

I've only been suffering for 33 years so I do sympathise with the extra 14 years of pain. :D

It's quite simple.....if you're not happy jog on.....we will all respect your decision.

If you are happy enjoy days like today and the forth coming games. We've never been in this position since I've supported this wonderful club so make the most of it now.

I agree in the main and I particularly liked the comment "A lot of those who walked away were complaining about football in general anyway......well before the re-brand, it was another bandwagon to jump on" ;)

That, I can assure you, is correct. I know SEVERAL people of the 70-ish that didn't renew for THIS season that USED the Red/Blue issue (and the subsequent offer of refunds) for their own ends; NONE of which included genuine football reasons ;) :ayatollah:

NO GENUINE fan actually WANTS the Red Re-Brand BUT then again NO GENUINE fan would want the club to FOLD either and I don't remember too many (actually NONE) others looking to come in and make even a tiny amount of the money VT has put in available ;)

totally agree the good times are just around the corner ,what would u prefer watching man utd liverpool and co or rochdale ,i know what i would prefer ,the rebrand has worked we are top of the league and this season is the highest average attendances for over 30 years :malky:

Re: 47 years

I don't care about Swansea or what other fans say to us I am an adult and can take the banter.

47 years, so what. What is so special about the premier league, we aren't going to win it. I doubt we win six game at home.

I can't wait until the thread start about this player and that player or why hasn't malky bought quality.

If the premier league is so good, why have half a dozen established clubs mortgaged next seasons TV money ?

Tan is not a local benefactor he is an investor he is not looking for a 10% return, far more.......

We never get out of this debt spiral, how much is a shot at the champion league spot or remaining in the premier league worth, selling our name ?

I think getting there will prove to be more fun than being there. I feel that the unity and fighting spirit we need for next season will be missing. Tans lack of knowledge may eventually cost him a fair chunk of cash, but we will be the real losers when he does go.

Yes I have my season ticket for next year, my kids are nearly wetting themselves waiting to see Van Persie, Rooney and Bale. I just can't get excited seeing my club split down the middle.

At last a decent post, I am only on 44 years supporting the boys, with a gap for my own playing days, but been back fully for over 12 years, totally agree and well done, We all want the blue back and one day it will happen again but for now lets all support the boys to the Premier :malky: :malky:

I can't wait for these fans who bang on about how they've been supporting City for years, and go on about how they've been "waiting" for so long to see top flight football, realise that the Premier League isn't that great. Success isn't everything.

Well JonCCFC,if youv'e been following the city for years yourself then you like me will have no experience at all about following a prem club so I would rather suck it and see for myself first.

A brilliant message and one that would be appreciated by well over 90% of ACTUAL CITY FANS

I have been a City fan since 1967, so like you, fully appreciate the briiliant team we have to support at present

No but I've spoken to many supporters of clubs who have been promoted/relegated to/from the Premier League, and they all say the same thing. Everyone bangs on about reaching the so called "promised land", I don't think it's worth selling our soul to get there.

I think you've misunderstood what I've said.

I'm just fed up with fans who bang on about how long they've been supporting City for as if it makes them a better fan, and then saying they've been waiting to see top flight football for so long so they don't care about the rebrand and they deserve to see the Premier League even if that means selling out to a foreign owner who likes the colour red.

Of course I want us to get promoted, I wouldn't be a fan if I didn't. But success isn't everything. It's not worth being the joke of English football just for a season or two in the Premier League.

Utter bollocks, if we went back to blue people like you would lord it over others, just as you don't like the time others have put in. I can imagine it now you would be all over message boards giving it the, I never surrendered shit, causing even more of a split, and don't tell anyone on here that you wouldn't. For what it's worth I want blue back but won't pour my heart out over a message board to feel all superior.

I don't think a fan who has been following a club longer than another makes them a better fan either.
However, it do make them a more experienced fan, and more long suffering fan than those who have followed the club for lesser time.
I would rather hear the opinion of someone who has followed the club for 30 years (and put a lot more money into the club) than say someone who has followed the club for a season.
Sometimes, there is a difference. ;)

First class post.I am 63 years of age and have been watching the Bluebirds since I was 12 with a pink schoolboy ticket given out by my school. Never did I think I would go to Wembley to watch my team play in both FA & League Cup finals. Dave Jones deserves credit for that and yesterday's abuse was totally out of order.

We as a club are on the verge of playing in the Premiership and the excitement has been tempered by the red/blue argument.i for one am blue through and through but if I can see my club in the EPL its a price I am willing to pay.

Sorry if you don't like my post but we almost there so get down the CCS and get behind a team that has done the business all year. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :malky: :malky: :malky: :malky: :malky:

Well there is only one way to find out, maybe even you Jono might enjoy it, would you rather we didn't go up then :? :?

I think you've misunderstood what I've said.

I'm just fed up with fans who bang on about how long they've been supporting City for as if it makes them a better fan, and then saying they've been waiting to see top flight football for so long so they don't care about the rebrand and they deserve to see the Premier League even if that means selling out to a foreign owner who likes the colour red.

Of course I want us to get promoted, I wouldn't be a fan if I didn't. But success isn't everything. It's not worth being the joke of English football just for a season or two in the Premier League.

Sometimes, there is a difference. ;)

There's a difference when you compare 30 years to 1 year.

Of course there is, hence the extreme example to prove the point.

Well my point is that fans who go on about how long they've supported City try to make out that they're better fans than everyone else.

I don't think they do.
They are just very proud to have supported the club for so long. ;) Anyone agree?

It's irrelevant. :thumbright:
