Mod request - The March For Blue

Sat Mar 16, 2013 2:14 am

If there are any mods reading, can the original march post be made a sticky now to ensure that those that would like to be there are aware that it is actually happening. I know there are a few that may be against it, but no one is forcing anyone to turn up it's their choice, we can all make our own minds up. It is just a peaceful protest after all.

It was "The march is not cancelled" thread. Perhaps Bluebird 37 can repost it with a different title say "The March for Blue - Details" or something, and that could be made a sticky?

I suppose this raises the issue of do the mods want to turn this board into an anti-rebrand board?

I can understand why they would feel that was appropriate (and I don't have a problem with that, as that's fair enough), but I suppose for those of us who are pro VT, we would then need to consider if this is the board for us.

I guess many would be happy to see fans like me leave this board, and I'm not interested in wave smilies from some of them, but I am interested in the mods views on this issue.

Would they prefer the board to become effectively an anti-rebrand board?

It would simply be making people aware of the march, no one would be expected to attend if they didn't want to and given a clear thread title you wouldn't even have to open the post. Of course should there be some sort of pro red march or other campaign, then that should be allowed to be posted as a sticky too.

I think if that genuinely would happen, then that would be fine, but in recent weeks, I've noted this anti-rebrand issue has been raised more and more, and in fairness to the mods (who I have always found to be fair on here), it's not particularly coming from them.

I suppose I can just see this issue becoming a bigger and bigger priority potentially, and I think what I'm really saying is, if this board wanted to turn itself into a campaigning tool for the blue side (which as I've said would be fair enough), then I think that should be set out very clearly and we can then all make our minds up on what we should do.

Even if I stopped posting, I'd still remain loyal in one sense to this board, in that it would still be the only one I'd read, as it's by far the best of the City Boards out there.

I also always read all the posts on the rebrand, as they obviously all have a massive bearing on the club that I love, and I hate it when any loyal fan posts that they're considering stopping going to matches.

I know Nukes - I hate all those as well, and would never do that myself.

I really feel for any fan who feels that they can't carry on attending because of the rebrand and hate any gloating done by the 'red' party :(
