Based on recent performances and results this is what I would go with tomorrow:
4-2-3-1:
Marshall
McNaughton, Connolly, Barnett, Taylor
Cowie, McPhail
Conway, Kim, Bellamy
Campbell.
Subs: Lewis, Nugent, Whittingham, Noone, Helguson, Gestede, Mason.
Now I know pretty much everyone will disagree with me, however I feel our team just needs changing for a game or two. Players like Gunnarsson and Whittingham have played every game since December and need resting. By bringing in Cowie and McPhail you've got a very experienced midfielder who can pick a pass out from anywhere on the pitch and who can control the pace of the game. Then in Cowie we've got a player who will run all day long and do the hard work so McPhail can play his game.
I'd start Kim in a more CAM role, giving him the chance to dictate the play and in the position he can be very dangerous on the edge of the box. He had a great game against Blackpool on the wing, however I feel he would put in an even better performance playing in a central role.
Depending how the game goes I would bring on Noone, Gestede and Mason for Conway, Bellamy and Campbell. Now obviously should McPhail start his fitness will be a problem so Gunnarsson would then come on, however should he be okay I would bring Noone on as on the counter he will tear the defence apart and create chance after chance. Mason for Bellamy on the wing as he hasn't had the chances this year which is a real shame as last year he was on of our best players and deserves more games. Again he is quite speedy so can get up the pitch to support Gestede and also has a good eye for goal. I would then bring on Gestede for Campbell as on Tuesday he cam on and made a real impact. Won every header and held the ball up well bringing others into the game which is just what we needed.
Going for a 3-1 City win. Bluebirds!!!
