OT/ FROCH AND KESSLER.

Fri Mar 15, 2013 1:13 pm

This is by far the best fight that will happen this year.
Both fighters are equal in my opinion, Both have terrific chins so don't expect a knock out.
This will be a toe to toe tear up. You punch, I punch, stand and deliver.
The only way this fight won't go the 12 is if there is a nasty cut or one corner man feels his his man can't continue(don't expect the latter).

Mikkel is probably the most honest fighter I have ever seen.
He never complains about a decision (look at his two defeats) he is open minded and rarely gets caught up in the moment.
When he fought Joe in 2007 he was in terrific condition and convinced he was going to leave Cardiff with all the spoils.
The first six rounds it was all out war,the fight swung both ways and you only hoped it was gonna continue in that form, sadly for the neutral though Joe adjusted his in fight style(a trait that saw him retire undefeated) and Mikkel himself said that was the difference in the fight. Even in the press conference afterwards Mikkel was humble and not bitter to be on the end of a close fight defeat.
Carl is a warrior, he just doesn't stop. He hounded Joe throught his career when he probably should've been concentrating on his own career. This didn't really endear himself to the Brit fight fans. Since Joe retired Carl steeped out of the shaddow and got himself in contention for some truly memorable performances. He was in my opinion in serious trouble against Jermain Taylor(A gifted fighter with truly tragic internal issues) but showed the metal and guts and ended it with the last punch in the last second of the fight. This opened the eyes of America and interest in Carl surged. They had seen him previoslu defeat Pascal in impressive form and was a marquee name insertion into the SuperSix.
Ward and Dirrel were the Young Pretenders and whilst Ward since has shown Both Carl and Mikkel he is the best SuperMiddleweight on the planet. It's the battle for 2 & 3 which has the whole boxing world licking their lips.

10 weeks til the fight, a fight that will further enhance Eddie Hearns grip on the ability to promote the best fights on these shores.
Frank Warren has lost St George Groves,Scots Warrior Ricky Burns and Barry Islands very own Lee Selby to Eddie's Matchroom Promotions in recent weeks. The future of the sport is blossoming again even if the biggest fight could spell the end of one of the warriors careers.

How do you come to that conclusion?

Understand that you may not like Carl but how can you label him a loser?
He has been beaten twice by Ward and Kessler and went out in his feet both times.

Out of the Two Fighters I Like Kessler more than Carl, but as a Boxing fan first and foremost I would want to see a fight with these type of fighters more than Prime Mayweather fight.

He is far from a loser.
He has one of the most winning mentalities that I have seen from a UK fighter.

I hated him when he was talking shit about Joe, but he has since won me over.

Carl is far from the most technically gifted boxer, however, he is more skilled than most give him credit for. His will to win should help him do the job on a very solid kessler. You just never know. Chins and legs just give up overnight in this game

Why is that a joke?
You know that you will get a full on engaging fight.

Besides which, Mayweather has fooked of to Shotime which will prevent him having another meaningful fight.
As for Broner....he is jumping 2 weight classes to Welter in order to fight Paulie Mallinagi, while missing out on some very good fighters between weights.

Good opening post and i agree with it all.The only time i didnt like Froch is when he was bad mouthing Calzaghe. He's since changed his opinion on him and now with the knowledge that he'll never fight him has shown Joe the respect he deserves.Froch's fight with Pascal was one of the best in the last 20 years and you could see then that he was the real deal.I love his interviews and he really does talk a lot of sense and shoots straight from the hip.I can see this fight being a draw and a third fight. If Froch does win though i hope retires and will go down as one of the best British fighters ever.If Calzaghe had Froch's attitude and willingness to fight anyone i don't think Calzaghe would have retired undefeated.

Is that what the fight is being billed as? If not it should be.

Calzaghe would of owned all of froch's opponents including ward. He was an outstanding fighter who could adapt to any style on the night. Carl is a top fighter right now and he deserves big respect for what he has done in the sport. Froch has had to do it the hard way because he cant sustain himself as the best in the division for more than 3/4 fights. Its no good saying his willingness was better than calzaghes to fight anyone. He has really been forced to fight so called better opponents ie ward in america, kessler in denmark and taylor also in america. He should enjoy his moment right now because he is very limited at the top end of the smw/Lh divisions. He has great heart but so what that really is a basic requirement of any world class fighter.
