Recently the efforts of certain fan groups to have a say in the running and general wellbeing of their favoured football clubs have come to the foreground as recession-fuelled angst rises. While it is commendable to a certain extent that these fans spend the time to represent alternate opinions, they should remember that football clubs – certainly in England and particularly in the Premier League – are not ruled by democracy.
