Malkys defensive options for Saturday !

Thu Mar 14, 2013 1:19 pm

With Hudson and turner missing for the next few games the options at the back look worrying , what will be our strongest option defensively and what could what will malky go with ?

Number 1 - stay 4-4-2

----------------------Marshall---------------------

Mcnaughton---Connolly---nugent-------Taylor

Number 2 - 5 at the back with a sweeper

-----------------------Marshall-----------------------

----------------------mcnaughton-------------------
Gunnarsson----Connolly-----nugent-------Taylor

Number 3 - 4-4-2 with deep defensive mid cover sat in front

-------------------------Marshall-----------------------

Mcnaughton-------Connolly-----nugent-------Taylor
-------------------------gunnarsson---------------------

Number4 - dip into the Loan window for a centre back to cover ?

Can't really think of any other options he has unless he risks playing a centre midfielder like mutch for his high at centre back like carrick sometimes does for man utd ?

My team would be 5-3-2

-------------------------Marshall----------------------

Mcnaughton------Connolly----nugent-------Taylor

-----------------------gunnarsson----------------------

--------kimbo--------mcphail------whittingham-----

------------------Campbell------Bellamy--------------

A skill full passing lineup that will pass Sheffield wed to death :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Won't be going forward much with mcpahail in there.
Gunnarsson will have to do lots of covering tackles to compensate for him as well

I would play Gunnarsson to cover the back 4 then, Kimbo, Whitts, Cowie and Bellamy, with FC up front. So it is 4-1-4-1 changing to 4-1-3-2 when needed.

Good team i thought of cowie aswell .I think we need a different player to play deep and allow whitts some freedom to go forward , I like mcphail a style of holding the ball and giving off short passes , and with the 3 of them in midfield we could see some brilliant pass and move football instead of lumping it upfield .

Anything but that lump it forward from Nugent or Turner.

Getting Marshall to speed up his distribution would help, as he waits too long to kick it forward.

Pass it forwards, getting to the line and cutbacks are what we need to get going again.

Anyone but Nugent, Get Lappin in there.

imo we should go 4 2 3 1 my team would be marshall, mcnoughton,connoly.nugent.taylor.as the back 4 then gunnerson and cowie as the 2 whitts in front of gunnerson and cowie with bellamy and conway on the flanks and cambell up front that set up would help the back for and we would hit them on the break ....kimbo gestede mason noone etc would give us good options from the bench :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:
