Rudy is slowly starting to show why Malky has stuck with him. His link up play against Derby was very good when he came on and he showed some nice flicks. Again he was a handful last night and ultimately got the equaliser that earned us a point! Against Derby, Rudy fluffed his chance by going for the spectacular. But it's not often you see a big man, the size of Rudy able to adjust his body like that.![]()
I feel it is time for Conway to be dropped for a few games. I'm not slating the boy, he puts in a hell of a shift but him cutting inside is again becoming predictable by opposition defences.
If we stick with the 4-4-2; I would like to see Bellamy brought out wide to keep teams guessing, Rudy up top alongside Campbell and maybe Kim brought back into the side or the pace of Noone (depending on the type of opponents we are facing).
Kim Bo was immense against Blackpool, he's been in and out of the side all season but I feel against Leicester last night him on the opposite wing to Noone would have provided us with more creativity.
If we are talking about changing the formation personally I would go with a 4-3-3. I am taking into account that Hudson is injured for the next game and Turner is fit. This is the team I would go with:
Marshall (GK)
McNaughton (RB)
Connolly (CB)
Turner (CB)
Taylor (LB)
Gunnar (CM)
Whittingham (CM)
Cowie (CM)
Bellamy (LW)
Campbell (CF)
Noone (RW)
I will explain why I have gone for this team. I think Kev done his job when he came on last night, despite being shaky in his last start. Connolly looked more comfortable last night when he slotted inside.
I've gone for Cowie in the centre of midfield alongside Whitts and Gunnar because Cowie's fitness levels are unreal! He doesn't stop running and I think his work rate and Gunnar's bite in the midfield would give Whitts the freedom he needs to create!
Bellamy on the left wing is where he has shone in the later stages of his career. He is no longer a goal scorer, more of a play maker who will create chance after chance after chance.
