I would love to see us bring in couple of top class loan players ASAP,it needs freshening up and a couple of new faces will give them a lift.
We are so close to the line surely whatever the financial cost, now is the time to invest rather than gamble as some would see it.
It would boost the fans, lift the atmosphere and kick start the players, get it on please.

You are right Gwyn they are in a rut at the moment, a few new faces in will pick the players and the fans up. Come Malky go an bring them in and finish the job off

Agreed Gwyn if Hudson and Turner are going to be out for any length of time we have to get a decent Centre Half easier said than done though but if i was Malky i would be on the phone to every Premiership Manager this morning. Also if we could pick up a quality attacking midfielder then I would grab him but I think we have enough quality sat on the bench in the form of Kimbo and Cowie to cover midfield.
I think Ben Nugent looks a very good prospect but it's not fair on him to throw him to the heat of a battle for Promotion without Hudson alongside him to direct and advise him hence the need for a experienced or young quality Premiership Centre Half

Not enough time for Malky to compile the necessary "dossiers" on any potential loanees.
I would be truly amazed to see anyone come in on loan, even though as said above it could give everyone a boost.
Malky probably thinks that it could disrupt the team rather than give it a boost and thinking of players like JET and JLloyd Samuel he could have a point!
On the other hand , look at the positive effect Jason Roberts had on Reading last year.

We have decent players in the stands / bench not been given a chance.
How the f**k Smith keeps starting, and not getting subbed 1st sub I dont not know.
Kimbo has one bad half and he isnt seen for 2 months!!!

Two defenders on loan needed desperately.

Been saying it for months Gwyn, but some felt I was out of touch now though others can see what I thought would be a problem a few months ago.

I've always been of the same opinion as you regarding the need for a target man. Helguson is not the answer as he is not mobile enough. Gestede has saved our bacon lately but I don't think he is the answer either. Look at Leicester...they always had an outlet in Woods. They also have Kane and Vardy as back-up. They were able to build moves because Woods could hold the ball up and bring midfield runners into play whereas despite our lack of a targetman we continue to lump long hopeful balls forward. We've done it all season and got away with it most of the time but we got away with those tactics previously because we were getting lots of goals from set pieces with Hudson, Turner, Connolly and Gunnarsson converting Whittingham's wicked deliveries. That source has now dried up for whatever reason so we are struggling for goals. If Campbell had not been signed we'd be looking pretty sick now.
Malky missed his opportunity in January. To me it was obvious that we needed a quality targetman and more cover in defence. His failure to plug those gaps is coming back to haunt him. Probably too late to get loans in of the right quality now but if it meant paying over the odds for a couple of players who can help us to get the 3 or 4 wins we need I would urge him to do it. I like Malky but I think he has his favourites and he tends to rely on them too much. I hope that he will prove me wrong.

I see your point but we have plenty of new faces who are not getting a look in. What has Mason, Kimbo , Mutch got to do to get a game?

totally agree with this,

The problem is that unless the "fits in" we wont get them in on loan, to be honest weve not got time to see if the player fits in - just f*cking get them in and get the job done, we are playing like a relegated side at the moment...all the "officials" on twitter saying great effort to get a point at home...are they for real !! weve lost to a top ten side and almost to a top five side in the two home games.
Teams who have previously gone up slaughtered the january transfer window ...look at qpr, west ham..they bought 5 6 strikers aswell as other players....we just get 1 player in ! The burn out is happening again just a little later on in the season this time round

No chance, wouldn't cross Malky's mind.

Agreed that a couple of quality loan players would be a massive boost but can anyone think of any players who are available on loan who would step straight in and improve the team???? It's not as simple as it sounds!

Agreed gwyn but we should have had 1-2 more in covering for the back line nine months ago tbh and i dont want to see another blame come may from MM like last seasons not enough numbers to why we failed

Defence needs looking at big time, really need to get someone in or risk missing out on promotion, and we need to change the midfield, Kim, cowie and Mutch could change things given a run out

I bet there are CH's at most premier league clubs who would jump at the chance to play regular football at the top of the league side in the championship with nailed on promotion? A chance to flaunt their services, and prove a point maybe. Won't hurt a very very good player not getting game time to drop down for just 10 games?

I'm hearing Squilachi and Miguel from Arsenal....

But how many of them will have clubs that are willing to let them leave at this stage of the season? Anyone playing or on the bench for their club in the prem is unlikely to be allowed to leave and anyone who hasn't played regularly might not be match fit 2 step in 2 a promotion chasing side at such a crucial stage?

What like Raheem Sterling of Liverpool. As an example!

Good example, saw the link 2 the Sterling story earlier and he would be ideal! Can't see it happening though myself, don't think he'll go anywhere.
I'm not saying these loan players are not there, just think it's a lot more difficult than we realise 2 find suitable players
