Super Kev

Wed Mar 13, 2013 12:47 am

Great to see him play so well today after his off-day against Boro.

Not sure if anyone remembers it but he saved a certain goal with a last-ditch tackle in the 6-yard box, something which he does many, many times every single season and is worth far more points than his poor passing/distrbution costs us in my opinion.

He also looked far more of an attacking threat than Connolly, who is definitely a centre-back and NOT a natural full-back, i don't think. Connolly offers nothing at all going forward, though i agree that he is a very good defender and composed on the ball.

I've been saying it for a while now, Super Kev has been outstanding for us for years and still is as good a defender as ever in my opinion, though i'm not sure many on here would agree. So Premier League or no Premier League, sign him up on a new contract for next season please Malky. :ayatollah:

Kev is a better defender than Connely as well but the only thing that lets him down is his distribution which was actually pretty good tonight

I don't think he took any risks last night distribution-wise, got forward and played short sensible balls to feet, as if he knows his weaknesses and has adapted his game....true pro

Super Kev has been consistently reliable.

He is an excellent defender who rarely lets anyone get past him.

He works really hard and is still enthusiastic and energetic going up the wing.

His positives far outweigh his negatives.

Played great tonight.

Needs to be used more.

Super, superKev, super, superKev, super, superKev, superKev McNaughton

You may notice that I'm a Kevin McNaughton fan.

Agreed, I think he should play a big part in the remainder of the season, Yes, he got done at Borough, but he wasn't the only one. Looked neat and tidy going forward tonight and hardly put a foot wrong. I also thought when Connolly moved to centre half he looked a lot more comfortable, he is not a right back.

He does have games where his head goes and it tends to cost us goals but he did well last night and was able to keep up with Dyer on the break. Kev offers more going forward but just wish he had a little bit more composure :ayatollah:

Can Lappin play centre half ? Nothing against Nugent but I think Malky should look at protecting him and playing him in pressure games could wreck his confidence?

He did us proud last night - always give 100% :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :old:

I thought Kev was a real positive out of last night, if he can get back to where we know he can it could be like signing a new player.

He played well last night and gave us a bit of impetus going forward :ayatollah:

Not his biggest fan, hes certainly not the best defender in the country as you say Scott , but its beggars belief the kid Nugent starting ahead of him.

Malky must really f*cking hate Kev.

I thought he was great when he come on! He did little wrong and i hope he starts this Saturday if Hudson and Turner are not available!

Did really well, good on him. Also, in the last few games, Connolly's distribution has been way worse than Kev's

He looked effed toward the end though, maybe a little lacking in match fitness but I'd defo sign him up. He won't be short of offers if we (or them as we perhaps should start calling the club) let him go for free. It's not as if the club ever let quality players leave for nothing

He has been poor this season, but he never gives up and did a great job last night, now he needs to keep it up :malky: :malky:
