Ben Nugent

I am sorry to say but this kid is woeful. Looks so uncomfortable on the ball and his distribution makes Ben Turner look like David Beckham.

Everyone would like to see homegrown lads in the team but only if they are good enough and he clearly isnt.

10 games to go nows not the time to blooding a rookie.

Beggars belief Malky starts with him, and Conolly rb with Kev on bench.

Did it watch a different game? What did he do wrong tonight?

You, and more importantly he, do realise we now play in red not blue?!!!

What did he do f*cking right?!?!?

i've always defended nugent but tonight he was shocking.. he's not ready for games with this much pressure as he clearly isnt confident on the ball and always seems to be looking around for someone to tell him what to do.

Totally agree, if Hudson is now out injured Malky must get a replacement in quickly, Nugent hasn't been the same since OG against Bristol

Re: Ben Nugent

Tue Mar 12, 2013 11:10 pm

Plenty of potential and in the summer he will reflect it was his fault that we didn't get promoted. So Malky is essentially ruining his career.

Re: Ben Nugent

Tue Mar 12, 2013 11:12 pm

Polo, he was poor but do u think he plays better with Hudson's guidance? Been awful alongside turner and now connelly.

Not his best day at the office, he is young and learning his trade, as you said polo now is not the time to drop him in the deep end it could mess him up. Malky dip into the loan market

Answer the question I asked, don't twist it. He's 19 years old. He's going to make errors as he's still learning the game. I thought he done alright personally. Midfield was the downside tonight in my opinion. Lack of energy and not challenging for second balls, no creativity there neither. We need to change some players in midfield for the weekend. Need to freshen it up

Re: Ben Nugent

Tue Mar 12, 2013 11:18 pm

Answer the question?

He gave the ball away every time he had it.

The end.

He was alongside Hudson first half and was utter dogshit

Re: Ben Nugent

He didnt know what to do with the ball, other than lose it. Age isnt an excuse.

Re: Ben Nugent

Young kid learning the hardest position on the park has done really well for us since he came in looked very good .Tonight he played in a big game with lots of pressure and he didnt play his best he had a few bad moments but his head never went down he just played on and came through it.

I will forgive him 1 game he looks a good player for the future

Don't go saying that, people need a scapegoat for tonight! Even though the whole team had a poor game, it's Nugents fault ;)

Re: Ben Nugent

Tue Mar 12, 2013 11:23 pm

He is a kid and I dont like to slate him but that he was all over the place. If Hudson wasnt injured I think Nugent would have been replaced.

MM must now be looking to the loan market to see if a CB is available.

Malky is the scapegoat but lets not kid ourselves Nugent was woeful tonight and the fact you think he did well says you havent got a clue.

Re: Ben Nugent

Polo is bang on. If we're stuck with Nugent we won't go up.

If he becomes a regular starter the opposition managers will be able to plan for him and it will be only a matter of time til he gets owned.

You've got to ease a player like that in, not drop him in at athe deep end in the pressure cooker point of the season.

Because I have a different opinion to you? Who are you 'a super fan' who's view is fact? Malky is stubborn I agree, but to blame a kid for a poor team performance is poor judgement. We had enough to say when Dave jones laid into Matthews before, he made a mistake leading to a goal too. Imagine if Nugent did that!? People would be suicidal on here

Re: Ben Nugent

im glad you said this polo. dont want to slate anyone but the kid is aweful. no where near ready for this league never mind a club going through a bad patch and top of the league.

mcnaughton has to start for me next game

I think Malky has asked to much of him we slated dj for not giving the youngsters a go and Malkys gives im a go and yea he has been ok until tonight where yea he had a bad game.

He is not ready to play every game and today was one game to much for him but without leasons like tonight how does he learn .I think he is one for the future and he needs to be handled correctly and Malky will no that from tonight.

Re: Ben Nugent

Tue Mar 12, 2013 11:31 pm

The boy may well go onto being a future Cardiff legend, but without Hudson he has no leadership and guidance. Malky needs to see the light and play mcnaughton at centre half with Connely. Together I am sure we can battle through until the captain is back. We surely have enough right footed players who can cover at right back.
Bellamy needs a kick in the arse. No end product again. Always complaining and not only at the ref but also his own team mates. He was shocking tonight.
I am sure we can still get to the premiership but Malky now needs to step up to the mark and not bottle it.

Re: Ben Nugent

Tue Mar 12, 2013 11:36 pm

he seems to miss every header.. when theres a long ball coming to him he puts his foot in front of the defender and seem to then fall on his arse which makes the other player easily go past him.. he's no way ready we need a cb on loan asap.. hudson and bellamy were clearly unfit still.

I dont need to be a super fan to make this judgement. Just a pair of eyes.
Not blaming him for the poor performance, apart from Marshall no one deserves credit, but Nugent was the worst of a bad bunch.

Dived in wrong side a number of times.

Dont see any potential myself, cant understand the fuss.

He had a stinker this evening and at times this evening he was looking at his team mates for instructions :o does not bode well for a team chasing promotion, Malkey please bring in an experiences C B as soon as possible ......no make that f**king sooner as can understand how anyone can think Nugent is the answer on this and his last performance :?: .

Well i disagree, he was just as bad as anyone. I though Taylor played well too, cracking cross for the goal which slips people's minds. We just didn't get going at all tonight until the last 5-6 minutes of the game. It needs to to addressed and sorted out because we haven't played well for a while now

Pretty much agree besides Gunnerson who I thought grafted all game and did ok.

Re: Ben Nugent

Tue Mar 12, 2013 11:51 pm

Nugent didnt have a good night thats for sure, but you lot slating him is just a disgrace we are all disapointed we didnt win but hey ho we have taken 4 points of leicester, who were well tipped to win this league in the summer. Get real we are not the only team thats trying to go up. I seem to remember you lot saying what a waste of money hudson was now we cant play without him. I think the bottom 4 clubs would all swap places with us tonight they all think we have a better chance of prem football than them next year
