We need mcphail

After watching that its obvious we have been worked out , the last few home games have pretty much been reruns of each other and our style is to easy to play against as a visiting team .
Beginning of the season teams came here with a deep 451 allowing whitts to move forward and sit round the supposing half about 30yards out playing straight into our hands and making us look world beaters . Since Peterborough came here and played a 4-3-3 / open 4-5-1 we have looked ropey and nervous with teams now sitting on the half way line pushing whitts deep and allowing him no space whatsoever which is then making our forward players have to come back deeper aswell leaving us no options up front apart from long Balls to nobody.
It's actually quite pathetic we have no plan b whatsoever .

IMO on Saturday we need something like this -

Now I know people will laugh at the inclusion of mcphail but to be honest his experience and range of passing would take the pressure off whitts and with cowie next to him to do all the running it would freshen the team up .
No other player in this squad can really play that role , kimbo is a attacking playmaker with the three of them in the team we would be amazing passing wise
I only left Hudson out because he's clearly not fit and should never have started tonight
Gunnarsson looks shattered aswell a rest for cowie is on the cards

I totally agree with where you are coming from, McPhail has the ability to calm things down and let Whitts get forward. Failing that I'd stick Cowie & Gunnar in there and still push PW forward.

We need to go at teams though.

Agree in that the issue is centre midfield. We need to play the extra man in there as we are getting overrun. Why can't MM see this?

I can't believe he can't see it,it's actually quite worrying he doesn't seem to be able to change things , I hope he sorts that soon because he's a quality young manager who's still learning .

Totally agree. What goes through MM's mind? It's like he just hopes for the best. We can all see the goal coming from the other team. Annoying.

Mcphail has no legs anymore unfortunatly. He would be what we need if he was 3 or 4 years younger but not now.

I'd go for Cowie and Gunner rather than Macphail

i agree, but there is no way in hell malky would bring in mcphail now. our center midfield was nonexistant last night, going forward and defending was aweful. it looked like it was down the wing or nothing last night.

From what I've been hearing and have seen on message boards mcphail has been sharp and playing really well in development games and training , we just need him to sit there in whitts position to free him up to go forward !
He's only 33 his legs are still there .
Imagine the story ,
legendary player comes back after god knows how long out to push cardiff over the line in his final season !
Bring him in malky he deserves one last shot and we need his type of player

Is Mutch fit ? We could do with him playing like he did at the start of the season?

I agree we need Cowie's industry and pushing Whitts forward where he can be affective as he is not even looking up now and is looking unhappy with things.
