Burnley Are A Bogey Team For Hull

Mon Mar 11, 2013 7:46 pm

Head-to-head
• Burnley completed their seventh consecutive victory over Hull, when Dean Marney scored the only goal of the game in the reverse fixture on 24 November.
• Hull last took points off the Clarets in March 2008 with a 2-0 home win in the Championship. They had already won 1-0 at Turf Moor four months earlier.
• The Tigers have only scored 21 goals in 26 league matches at Turf Moor, and are hoping to penetrate the Burnley defence for the first time in three meetings.
Burnley
• Mid-table Burnley have failed to win seven of their last eight league matches, and have been sliding down the table after rising to seventh.
• Since notching a seventh home win of the league season, against Crystal Palace on 12 January, Sean Dyche has overseen two draws and two defeats at Turf Moor.
• The Clarets have used 24 players in their 36 Championship matches, which is fewer than any other club, and 12 less than Blackburn, who had fielded the most going into this weekend's fixtures.
Hull City
• Hull travel in search of the victory that will close the gap on leaders Cardiff to three points, but they have lost their last three on the road and conceded four in each of the most recent two, against Bolton and Crystal Palace.
• Steve Bruce's side will want to take an early lead, because they have not lost a league game in which they have opened the scoring, winning 17 and drawing one.
• James Chester could reach a century of league appearances for Hull if selected, while Alex Bruce is on the verge of his 250th club career appearance.
