Michael Owen - useful or useless?

Sun Mar 10, 2013 11:30 pm

he Cant even make the stoke starting line up not saying he's shite but his fitness is clearly a problem due to
injury and restrictions.

defo a championship player still in the premiership purely on past reputation.

In my oppinion, a step down or retirement is the only way forward for him

I can't see him playing on much longer after Stoke, maybe a stint in the MLS if he's desperate for cash but other than that, it's time to pack it in, he was brilliant in his hay day but now he's useless, what a career he could have had if injuries didn't hamper his career(not saying he had a bad one but could have achieved so much more)

Yeah hes been pretty bad since about the back end of 26 or 27 . but then football It has to be a lifestyle not something you do in beetween living a life of glamour players get old if they dont look after themselves they end up like owen, koumas, chopra, and so on. maybe owen got unlucky but the rest of them Pffft
what a waste of talent

I hope we learnt our lessons from when we brought Sinclair,Fowler and JFH to the club.
We cannot afford to be a retirement home for aging internationals looking for a final big payoff and maybe it is a bit harsh on JFH who at least played in games but they even managed to end up paying him for an extra season because of the contract they gave him!
