Hopkins v Clev?

Assuming Clev wins his next fight.

BH will be a test for Clev if it goes ahead but he should be way too fast

Be good if the fight happened in cardiff...at the ccs maybe. I think hopkins might just go for that, seeing as our very own calzaghe beat him over there, he may want to try and avenge that defeat by beating our current top welsh boxer in clevs back yard, I know these yanks don't like to travel, and the americans like to think all the big fights should be staged in america, but if I was clev, I'd try and get it staged over here... If of course they do end up fighting

Clev only likes fighting tomato cans at the moment. Hopefully when he shakes off Frank Warren things might change

Hopkins is older than me but its never a classic fight when hopkins fights. But he is still one of the best but ev would beat him

Hopkins can have many lucrative fights in America without Cleverly. Cleverly has fought nobody and his next two fights are against European taxi drivers. Hopkins would school him. And frank warren could never ever afford to get Hopkins to come over here to fight anyway

Out of interest, Why do you think clev beats Hopkins?

I think his speed, power,accuracy and stamina would wear B Hop down, just like Joe did. Clev seems to have a good chin, but BHop is well know for his defensive skills so it would be another counter performance by him and I think Clev would be too fast for that game plan. Resulting in B Hop fighting dirty on the inside and exposing himself for punishment by a hungry youngster who wants to put his stamp on the U.S.

And no I don't think Clev is in the same league as joe before you ask.

If clev kept him at range he'd have half a chance but Hopkins would definately have the better on the inside. I just hope he steps up sooner or later because he isn't going to improve fighting the people he has been

I find it hard to see why he don't ditch Frank Warren and see if he can do something with Golden boy!

joe didnt exactly fight beasts tho.
clevs still only 25, he needs to leave warren and get good fights under his belt, hes defo got the potential to be a great

Clev has Good Chin and excellent hand speed.

Bhop has vast amounts of experience and knows how to win ugly.


Clev doesn't have that big punch that he would need to knock out a man who has never been knocked out.


Bhop isn't the same fighter and couldn't maintain the level he would need to be at over 12 rounds to beat Clevs work rate.




A plus and a minus for each fighter there, if they did face off I could see the American claiming a narrow and controversial points win. That would automatically warrant a rematch and bring in a lot of money for both parties.

And that's why I think it will happen in the UK first.

Aj you could be right but its a hard 1 to call, although I would side with Clev.

As for Joe he only fought what was jn fornt of him! He tried fighting B Hop and other big names early in his career but they didn't wanna know. I agree Warren didn't help, but Joe was great fighter. His record speaks for itself.
