It May Be A Cliche But Having The Points On The Board

Sat Mar 09, 2013 7:15 pm

means the pressure will always be on the clubs doing the chasing. After the last couple of seasons no fans should know and appreciate it better than us. After todays games there are 3 clubs within 1 point of each other in the pack trying to chase us down, and even if Hull beat Burnley on Monday evening the 3 clubs will be within 3 points of each other. With what's at stake I think that puts those 3 clubs under far greater pressure than we are.

That's why it's important to enjoy days like today and more importantly to look ahead with confidence, starting with Leicester City on Tuesday. The pressure on that club, it's manager and players is mounting by the game and on Tuesday they have offered their fans travel to Cardiff for only £10, a free Blue "Foxes" scarf to wave about and a free Pie and Pint at the Stadium. Thought they were confident. :?

Next weekend Palace face Brighton away, Forest face Hull away and Watford face Barnsley away. I have no doubt that we will continue our march to promotion by not losing at Sheffield Wednesday.

In past seasons whilst we have been trying to "Chase Down" the teams ahead of us how many times have topics been written about "Keeping The Faith". I haven't seen many threads this season about KTF but surely this season more than any other this is the time to do it.

KTF in our fantastic manager, KTF in the wonderful group of players we have in our squad and more importantly KTF in the never give up attitude of both MM and each and everyone of our players.

If nothing else today should prove to everyone there simply is no substitute to HAVING THE POINTS ON THE BOARD.

Why don't our club buy us a free pie and a pint at a random away trip this season? :malky:

Don't want another free scarf though. The red one I am currently using to clean my toilet with is sufficient thank you.

Gary, in previous seasons we have been the club chasing down the top two and we have had the games in hand, yet the Jacks said to me that the points on the board are the key and not the games in hand.

This week when I have stated we are 6 clear of 3rd with a game in hand, they tell me that you are not guaranteed to win the game in hand. work out that logic because I can't

Jacks and logic. :? Never going to work. ;)

What do you make of Leicester offering £10 travel costs, "Blue Scarfs" and a free Pie and Pint for any Foxes fan coming to CCS on Tuesday.

I think they may not fancy the trip very much, the team that is.

Nice post - bang on. Our form earlier in the season has given us a cushion for a few games without points.

Although we are struggling with the sprinting at the moment, we are winning the marathon.

I feel confident we'll beat Leicester - it's them who should be worried not us.
