This country is run by the media, have no doubts about that. The Government are trying to get the 'terrorist' concerned deported as we speak but it ddoesn't suit the media (YET) to make it too big a story. Watch this space in the next few days

As for the 'footballer' issue you need to understand that it is not about barring the player himself but more about whether he is any BETTER than the local (British) player he may be putting out of a job

Whether that should be similar across the whole workplace is one for the politicians BUT it is worth pointing out that this country was built on its tolerant, multi-cultural ideals and we still lead the world in such areas

The UK is a fine country. It has its' social problems just like every other country in the world, but our way of life, our culture, our freedoms make us the envy of many other countries. People from all across the world see the UK as a place that they would like to live in.
The likes of Abu Qatada may well be stoned to death in other countries for the sort of behaviour he has displayed, but the simple fact that we are a civilised country that doesn't advocate that sort of behaviour is one of the things that I believe we should be very proud of.

Agree. It may make certain people feel better if he was executed, but he last thing you want to be doing is making someone like him a martyr. He thrives on publicity, and the publicity is more likely to inspire young impressionable muslim men to become militant.
Hopefully the hearing on Monday will conclude that it he will be safe if he is deported, and then we can chuck him out.
