Taxi driver - A mentally unstable Vietnam war veteran works as a nighttime taxi driver in New York City where the perceived decadence and sleaze feeds his urge to violently lash out, attempting to save a teenage prostitute in the process.

Genre - Drama, Thriller.

Brilliant. One of my favourites. Deniro at his best. Love the score on this film too.

I remember going to see it when it came out it was on first followed then by midnight express.
Whatever happened to double bills.

Never even knew what it was untill i looked it up, was made one year before i was born ffs still looks good so far

Certainly one of Martin Scorsese better films, but shallows in comparison to Robert De Niro roles in films such as The Godfather part 2, Raging Bull, The Deer Hunter, The Awakenings, Goodfellas, and Casino. Taxi Driver is worth a watch, but be warned, it's a very slow film compared to most of Scorsese's other works. I still rate it as a good film, but the lowest of the crop of his best films he's ever made.

It's shite, they're just actors acting out a what was a fairly normal screenplay before the lefiy right wing jews got a hold of it..The Islamics didn't bother, twas that shite
