WEAR BLUE AND SING 'BLUEBIRDS' AT CITY GAMES

Thu Mar 07, 2013 6:42 pm

In response to Cardiff City FC only featuring fans wearing Mr Tan's red (sic) scarves [taken at the Derby (h) game] in their 30 recently uploaded images on Facebook I have chosen to focus on City's true identity and heritage. My photograph shows the Club's official crest found on a City blue shirt.

The best way to peacefully protest against Mr Tan's plans is also simple:

"WEAR BLUE AND SING 'BLUEBIRDS' AT CITY GAMES."

We started wearing the Bluebird badge in 1969, as the 1969 season was the first season teams started to wear a badge on their shirts. The crest as displayed in the OP's post first got worn in 1985 I believe.

Cheers, thought it was in the eighties. When i first started going it was just a plain white circular patch, with the bluebird on it, that i take it was from 1969 then.

I believe so mate. That's what it says on the historical football kits site here anyway: http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Cardiff ... f_City.htm

The site also says we wore a badge in 1959, but I believe before 1969, we only wore a badge on our shirts for a one off game in a cup final.

Always wear blue to CCS and if we all continue to do so and keep the Bluebird chant going we may get through to VT but I doubt it

My god I love that badge :ayatollah: I cannot tell you how proud I would be to see us running out in blue with that badge in the Premier League.
Also regarding the song, wouldn't it be good if we changed the words slightly to - "you are my bluebirds, my only bluebirds, you make me happy when skies are grey"

Bluebird (badge): 1959-1960
Bluebird (words): 1965-1969
Bluebird (badge): 1969-1985
Bluebird (crest): 1985-2003
Bluebird (St David's Coss): 2003-2008
Bluebird (crest): 2008-2012

Incidentally I always wear blue and sing Bluebirds. My reason for posting was these are the simplest yet most powerful things to do.

I think the scarf scandal :laughing6: has cleared the mist from many eyes. We don't have to go nuts, we just have to keep supporting the team as we always have, don't buy the merchandise, keep on wearing our old blue shirts, scarves hats, keep singing "blue army, Bluebirds", etc

Vince, thank you for sorting out our two red shirts. Would you send the them and invoices in plain padded envelope to that PO Box number in Beirut that we used for Eric's specially made red wet-suit and my red bed sheets, pillow cases and duvet cover. Eric looks wonderful in his and mine are very comfy. A sincere thank you for services rendered and the need for Eric and me not to personally do the business ourselves.

Thats ok Steve I will make sure a red post office lorry picks them up and puts it on a red plane, to be collected by a donkey with a red blanket, and red trailer, and put it in the red PO Box in Beirut :D :malky:
