I had a friend whose had a friend arrested for child porn. The police took my mates pc away and they discovered child porn on it of which my mate knew nothing about. Forensic investigation proved that the material came from a site my mate was not a member of but this friend was. His mate used his pc to browse the site but had not realised he had downloaded the material. My mate had a lucky excape.

Yeah, it's too early to judge Dok. Innocent until proven guilty. I't doesn't look good but we'll just have to wait and see what the outcome is.

Some exerts from the article in The Washington post, too long to post all of it (His real name is Lawrence Joynes):

The initial news was bad enough. A music teacher at their children’s elementary school in Montgomery County was in jail, accused of keeping child pornography on his laptop computer.

Then details began to emerge. There were other images, described by police as inappropriate, with at least some taken inside the school. It prompted the most obvious question, one that has worried parents for nearly two months.

“We don’t know if this man has pictures of our children,” Angelica Nava said in Spanish, her voice rising Tuesday night during the second of two emotionally charged meetings at New Hampshire Estates Elementary School, along the eastern edge of Silver Spring.

The allegations against Lawrence Joynes, 54, have detectives looking into his 27-year career as a teacher in Montgomery County schools. Investigators are sorting through a series of images — Joynes told police he made videos of students as he inserted his finger into their mouths — and weighing what might legally constitute child pornography, according to authorities.

One particular concern is Joynes’s e-mail. Police said that Joynes last June sent similar videos to a child pornography producer in South Carolina. In the background of the videos, which involve a young girl, are musical instruments and what looks like a classroom, according to charging documents.

Since Joynes’s arrest, police said they have been sifting through images and digital files seized from his computer. Two police departments are at work on the case — Baltimore County, where Joynes lived, and Montgomery, where he worked.

No one has put a number on just how many pictures or videos have been collected, but Montgomery police recently received a cache of files from Joynes’s computer and expect that it could take weeks to examine them, police said.

According to charging documents, Joynes told police he invited girls to have lunch in his classroom. He told police he played games with his students, including times when he would put a peppermint stick into a child’s mouth.

Joynes said he stuck his finger into the mouths of “approximately seven” students at New Hampshire Estates, the documents said, and that he frequently videotaped his students.

The teacher also told police that he had fantasized about one girl, gave her a “horsey” ride on his lap and tattooed her name on his right shoulder, according to the court papers. She was 7 or 8 at the time.

The case against Joynes started with a federal investigation that led to a South Carolina man, Gerald Roberts, who federal agents said produced and distributed child pornography. Roberts pleaded guilty to the manufacture and transportation of child pornography, according to federal officials.

That investigation led to an e-mail address traced to Joynes and four video clips that showed children in what appeared to be a music room. The videos included images of a man putting a peppermint stick into a young girl’s mouth. The e-mail sender told Roberts: “Try some pics like these.”
On Feb. 27, detectives arrived with a search warrant at Joynes’s home in the Dundalk community of Baltimore County. According to court papers, they knocked several times and identified themselves. Eventually they forced their way inside and found Joynes “attempting to leave through the back door.”

Lawrence Joynes charged with child abuse, sex abuse of a minor, rape

More than a dozen girls fell victim to a veteran Montgomery County music teacher who faces charges of sexual abuse and rape, authorities say.

Joynes arrested March 1 on child porn charges

Montgomery County Police officials have charged Lawryence Wesley Joynes, a 54-year-old Dundalk resident, with multiple counts of sexual abuse, sexual offenses, child abuse and rape after discovering child pornography - some depicting his own students - on a home computer in February.

He was charged Aug. 8 and is being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on child pornography charges. In total, Joynes has been charged with 14 counts of sex abuse of a minor, one count of sex offense in the third degree, child abuse and second-degree rape.

The new charges against Joynes come several months after he was originally taken into custody on child pornography charges. Joynes was arrested March 1 on one count of possessing child porn.

Joynes spent the last 27 years teaching in the Montgomery County Public School system; the last decade teaching music at New Hampshire Estates Elementary School in Silver Spring.

At the time of his arrest, Montgomery County Public Schools administrators contacted the parents of students at New Hampshire Estates about the charges.

Authorities say that 14 of the 15 identified victims of abuse were between kindergarten and 2nd grade when the victimization occurred. Many of the incidents happened on school property, authorities believe.

The abuse ranged from Joynes either directing or assisting victims in imitating sexual gestures and inappropriately touching him. Pornographic images and videos of his victims were also found during a search warrant executed in February both his Dundalk home and his Silver Spring classroom.

A 15th identified victim, who is now an adult, told authorities that she and Joynes had multiple sexual encounters during a three-year span in the 1990s. Those offenses led to the rape and child abuse charges.

After his arrest, New Hampshire Estates Principal Marinda Evans told parents in a recorded call that "the safety and security of (their) children is their highest priority."

This is a developing story. More to come.

HE LOOKS LIKE GARY GLITTER!

Former Silver Spring music teacher indicted on child sex abuse charges
Joynes had previously been charged with 14 counts

By Tiffany Arnold
Staff Writer

A former Montgomery County music teacher charged with sexually abusing 15 students was indicted Thursday on 39 counts tied to the alleged abuse.

Lawrence W. Joynes, 55, of Dundalk, is charged with sexually abusing 14 elementary school students at New Hampshire Estates Elementary School in Silver Spring, where he taught for 10 years.

Joynes is also charged with having an inappropriate and sexual relationship with a student at Eastern Middle School in Silver Spring in the 1990s.

The indictment includes 14 criminal counts on a new child pornography charge, four additional counts of third-degree sex offense, and an additional count of rape.

School officials said Joynes taught in Montgomery County for 27 years.

Police said the girls involved were in kindergarten through the second grade.

Joynes was initially charged with 14 counts of sexually abusing a minor and one count of third-degree sex offense, court records show.

For the alleged abuse in the 1990s, Joynes was initially charged with child abuse, second-degree rape, third-degree sex offense, and two counts of second-degree sex offense.

The recent indictment incorporates the previous charges.

The new count of rape is connected to the 1990s Eastern Middle School case.

The indictment comes after a Baltimore County Circuit Court judge sentenced Joynes to time served for possessing child pornography. Joynes pleaded guilty to that charge on Feb. 6 and was ordered to register as a sex offender as part of the sentence, court records show.

Investigators said they found Joynes in 2013 through a Yahoo account police linked to porn distribution in South Carolina.

According to charging documents, a subsequent search of Joynes’ computer unearthed 4,400 sexually suggestive photographs of young girls, some of them students of New Hampshire Estates.

Police also recovered sexually suggestive video clips of girls sucking on peppermint sticks and a man’s finger inside what appeared to be a music classroom. Some of the videos were set to music or had sexually suggestive captions. In other clips, the girls were inappropriately touched or made to touch themselves, police said in court records.

According to testimony conveyed in the charging documents, Joynes described taping the videos in his classroom and said that the name of one girl was tattooed on his right shoulder.

Joynes’ attorney Alan C. Drew was unavailable for comment Friday.

Ramon Korionoff, a spokesman for the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s office, described the case as “troubling for the community.”

“The charges are very serious and we look forwarding to proving them in court,” Korionoff said.

A court hearing is scheduled for March 7.
