Bit of honesty then

Who has doubts about us going up this season?

I honestly believe we will go up this season as Malky can change games, has a plan B,stops any rot quick, by that I mean, we dont get many 2 defeats in a row, and most of all Malky is not a bottler and we have a team that fights for 95 minutes. :malky: :malky: :malky: :malky:

I have faith in malky but hes played whitts and gunners for to much this season, gunners has only missed one game, and this is where we are lacking at the mo in midfield but have a bench full of quality mids, but now its coming to the end of the season theres some hard choices to make. In malky we TRUST :ayatollah:

I honestly don't know Annis.

It's in our hands, I hope results go for us this weekend tho.

I think Mutch has been a huge disappointment, I think MM expected him to start games on a regular basis.

The best thing is the cushion we had already of 11 points, so we could afford to have a little blip or whatever this is.

I have no doubt we'll be back on track next Tues. :ayatollah: :malky:

I have got doubts, Annis, although I have no reason to have any. Agree with everything that you say about Makly and the team, but the top flight has been beyond us all my lifetime. Can still remember 70/71, and more recently, the Blackpool game. We should have gone up on both occasions. Hope that you are right, and that we finally make it. If we don't go up this season, then we never will. Everything is set up right for us, but still the doubts. No logic really, just being a CCFC fan! Whatever happens, my ST is renewed for next season :ayatollah: :malky:

I'm nervous but thats because i like many others keep looking at the league table :laughing6: But there are no easy games from here on in for everyone not just us theres still many twists and turns for lots of clubs including cardiff , watford, hull, and palace.
I think we will do it as Malky has them fighting till the very end even lastnights game which wasnt the best but the players kept going if that game was under jones he would have taken campbell off and put Lappin on and we would have lost 1 nil :laughing6:
We will go up this season even if we fail to beat leicester tuesday :malky:

Well we are six in front with a game in hand - now the third team must win two matches and even then goal difference is in our favour - we need to win against Leicester - also we need two wins in a row - we play watford and Hull and these are tough matches - yes we can do it - just need confidence - now is the time for fans to get behind the team fully

I believe we will struggle to go up in 2nd. This winning ugly crap Malky has adopted has finally caught up with us. We've ridden our luck all season. When was the last game we honestly played well and gave the opposition a hammering? Each game has been by the odd goal with plenty of narrow escapes (Wolves an example). I do believe Malky a good man manager, but is tactically very poor and his formation by playing Whitts continually so deep and leaving Noone and Kimbo on the bench shows a stubborn streak I thought we lost with DJ. Our hoof ball is not good enough for the Premier League.
In Malky we trust? Not for me yet anyway.

Never speak to much about it, next game lets get 3 points Annis! :laughing6: :ayatollah:

Just read that back.... Feck me too of the league too!!!
Don't mean to be so negative, but really don't like the way we're playing or the cloak and dagger way Tan is running the club. What will happen next??? Playing in red with red seats will be the least of our worries....

Re: Bit of honesty then

I just don't know. To me it going to rely on the chasing pack.

I've got been impressed with our performances all season. Being top of the league now will mean nothing if we end up in the play offs. All season people have been saying we have a few gears more and will step up if we have to. Well now is the time to do it because the chasing pack are giving it a go like Watford and Palace. If we do have these spare gears then now is the time to use them.

We've got the squad to get us over the finishing line, a 5 point cushion with a game in hand with only ten games remaining so things look really good. Bookies have us at 1/16 for promotion and they are rarely wrong. However with our history how can anyone not start to have doubts now, it's going to be one hell of a finish. I just pray to god it's all done and dusted before Hull away on the last day.

The next game - Leicester will be a big test win that and IMO we'll kick on and win the league. Loose and I see one big battle that will require major selection changes from lets face it a good squad.

That said I think a weeks rest and a return of Huds and Bellar's will be a major boost. The last two games have missed Huds. direction at the back.

Leicester will be a tough game but I see a win and a kick on to the end of the season.

Doubt will be in the back of everybody's mind.
But what people got to realize is that this is not the Dave Jones era!
This is Malkys time and he's suppressed my expectations already, we got to realize the whole of the squad are in a different set of mind, there is a team spirit, a togetherness. This is a tough league and were gaining points ugly. I think most of the fans are shitting themselves and deep down the players are too! What we needed is faith and for that faith to be channeled onto the pitch. If we make shit loads of noise and produce an amazing atmosphere it will only do the players good.

Stand up and be counted, let's forget about Tan, Red,Blue, dragons etc. Let's concentrate on Cardiff City. Bring back the Ninian atmosphere even the drum.

WE CAN DO THIS, WE WILL BE PROMOTED :malky: :ayatollah:

I'm just concerned that we're not scoring enough. Disappointed for instance that Bellamy has'nt even reached double figures by now.

It's not looking good on current form, but we should have enough to get in top 2 as the other teams are shit.

Re: Bit of honesty then

I think we will do it but Malky needs to make a couple of changes. He says the difference between this season and last is that we now have a better quality squad. This is true but he has to use them. Our midfield is looking a bit jaded and when he plays Smith and Conway on the wings we lack pace. Also no pace in centre mid. Against Derby our lack of pace made us predictable and our attacks broke down quickly with the pressure coming back on us making us look jittery at the back.

Now we have Fraizer Campbell I think that he can lead the line on his own especially if we play Bellamy and Noone out wide as they are quite capable of adding support to Campbell. This would allow us to play Kim as an extra midfielder. His excellent technical ability and the fact he doesn't waste the ball, can pick a pass and his all-round link-up play would not only help us to gain control of midfield but his clever little passes in and around the box would be just what Campbell would thrive on. I believe this set-up would also help Whitts to play more of an attacking role. :ayatollah:

Re: Bit of honesty then

Thu Mar 07, 2013 7:44 am

I still think we'll go up :malky:

Whenever we had a few poor results/performances we've turned it round in the next game and gone on a good run.

We do have a good squad, and everyone has their own opinion on who should be played, and in what position. But the fact remains we do have the players to win this league I just think Malky needs to change it a bit, rather than playing (dare I say) the safe option.

I think we will see a totally different team performance wise against Leicester, bag a win and kick on to win promotion :malky: :malky: :malky:

Re: Bit of honesty then

Thu Mar 07, 2013 7:45 am

After enjoying an 11 point lead to not gain auto would be a failure of epic proportions and tbh on current form the play offs would see us fail again. "Doing a Cardiff" would become a popular phrase to describe a team that manages to fail where winning would be the easier option. Can't realistically see us not getting auto this season but some tough gsmes ahead, let's not make history for the wrong reasons, imagine the ridicule from the rest orf the football fraternity.

Re: Bit of honesty then

Thu Mar 07, 2013 9:39 am

Now is not the time for bottlers. Believe and show the players you believe! The last thing they need is a nervous atmosphere at home games. If we are confident then it will resonate through to the players. :ayatollah:

Defo 100% ........ before Tues I reckon 5 more wins ( 15 pts ) is enough to finish 2nd which means 14 more to go and we can celebrate at long last ( 40 years in my case ) :ayatollah: :old: :ayatollah: :old: :ayatollah:

Re: Bit of honesty then

They need to mix the line up a bit. Not just the wingers. Gestede being the target man and Fraizer playing next to him. Worth a try.
