Fan cards checked

Wed Mar 06, 2013 10:13 am

Fan cards checked in family stand last night.

Presumably that's to check season ticket cards not being given to non season ticket holders.

With so many not turning up in the family stand (including my daughter last night) I would rather just see the season tickets being used by anyone.

they are quite often, and not just in the family stand.

First time I've seen it. There was a steward at the top of the steps into the ground.

Never sent my picture for the card so I can pass my card on if I can't make it

Actually, the answer is NO the cards should not be passed on according to the small print but we all know it goes on ;)

No issue with it myself, as I agree YOU pay for YOUR seat FOR THE SEASON but I have seen cards checked at the steps in the past (but not in the last season or so) :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

It was talked about but I'm not sure they do :(

Personally, I wouldn't worry too much about passing your card over to someone else. I miss the odd game here and there due to work and occasionally give the ticket to my mate. Never been queried to date but obviously you wouldn't give a student or junior ticket to an adult as that registers on the turnstile via the coloured light scheme :ayatollah:

Technically its fraud, although it would be a bit harsh to be prosecuted - there are rules in the small print to stop you doing this.

I don't think it's a problem for others to use you card, I've don't it plenty of times and I've even phoned the ticket office before now to have a ticket printed so a different person can come but we couldn't get to the card in time, they were fine.

I think the problem is adults using children tickets.

In the US, people by season tickets for the NFL, NBA and Baseball, but then legitimately sell them on through StubHub. That way, the club takes a chunk of the money if they re-sell your seat, and you get some money back too.

I'm not quite sure why we can't put this in place in the UK, although I know that many season tickets in the Us are bought by speculators in the hope that the team gets to the playoffs and they can then be sold above face value for a profit.

Simply ring ticket office if know cant go, they will print paper ticket instead,
Did it few times last season. As say paid for so can give it to who you like but tell them just in case there is check on st
And its not you! Thats the problem with just passing st on.
Can collect day of game from collection point.
