FERVOUR OF THE FANS...

Wed Mar 06, 2013 9:51 am

This is interesting from last night's programme...

Carl Dale was asked what stood out for him during his seven seasons with City.

Despite the success he had, he actually says it was the passion of the fans. Could today's players say the same?

Dale said "I would say the team spirit, successes and failures that we had but the biggest memory is our enthusiastic following, especially for a lower division club and particularly away from home.

"I still recall that day at Scunthorpe United in May 1993 when we won 3-0 and took the title. There were over 7,000 there and 5,000 of them were our supporters."

Atmosphere has been awful at Brighton and Derby games. Need the spirit of 93!

All seater stadium kills the atmosphere. Heard that standing sections could be introduced back in at some stage, can't remember where i heard it but was only a few weeks ago.

It's not just our fans tho. There are very few clubs who have passion like in the 80's 90's.

Our away support is still pretty good but even that isn't what it was. Many things have changed for the better though and I can take my kids without any hassle now.
