The last few minutes of the game yesterday, every player in the team gave absolutely everything to try and get something out of the game.
In particular David Marshall, he came up for a corner and nearly got something on the cross, then another corner followed soon after and again Marshall was there challenging, he even ended up on the left wing and he got to play a ball into Helguson.
We threw everything at it near the end and it is that desire and fight that shows me Malky has got this team focused and determined to deliver promotion.

It's not that offen Marshall has shown that in a game but having won 22 this season he hasn't had to that often,
But to see that happening shows the effort the squad are putting in and what Malky has instilled in all of them.
The desire has been there all season compared to previous years.
Lets hope they can as a team deliver what we all want

The commitment and determination of the player has never been a concern of mine, rather the strength in depth has. Yesterday reaffirmed to me that. We're a defender short for a start, we should have signed either Brayford or Hunt in January to give ourselves more quality at the back. While up front we should have brought another striker in (preferably a target man). Given that its late in the season, most clubs are mainly in one competition. For example Stoke have only got the PL to worry about, they are in no realistic risk of going down either, therefore why don't we take a punt on Jones or Jerome? Either of those two could be the difference between automatic promotion or falling into the playoffs! We've spent a lot of money already granted, but there's no point penny pinching when we are so close!

Is the loan window something were looking at? Malky doesn't seem to be making those sorts of noises

There's a real danger that for the sake of a couple of quality players the whole season could unravel at the death. I guess we will know more after the derby game

Fantastic effort yesterday and we threw absolutely everything at them in the last 20 minutes Campbells downward header bounced over the bar and on another day would have gone in and the keeper pulled off a fantastic save from Helgusons header.
However our defence looked very suspect without Hudson and i really wonder that IF we go up are Connolly, Super Kev or Taylor good enough for the Premiership

This desire and determination we are seeing is something we never got to see under Dave Jones. Malky has got them playing with the same passion that he shows on the touchline. Every game they are fighting hard to get a positive result. Under DJ, we would go 1-0 down and you used to know that, that was it. Game over. Under Malky its a different story...And long may it continue.
Malkys...Barmy Army!!!

Yes the desire etc is there BUT we have lost 2 out of 3 matches IS that promotion form.?COULD we falter BECAUSE we didnt strenghten our defence when it seems it was needed ?Have we got to rely on 1 man in defence?People said there was no need as we had Nugent .For some reason he didnt start the game

Thought the title of the thread was going to be the new slogan on the badge next season for a moment then.

I was amazed watching the live stream to see almost the whole team going up for the corner in the last few minutes and then for the commentator to say "The keeper is playing on the left wing!" I almost spat my tea out!It was great to see them really giving everything until the last kick of the game.

To be fair to Boro they looked dangerous on the break every time and McNaughton had to save us once. Their strikers run reminded me of Long's vs us in the playoff semi vs Reading where McNaughton chased all the way back and tackled him. Im sure it was Shane Long.
I think Malky wants to take us up on the minimum required. We are short in a few positions but why buy players who may not be Premier League quality? If we don't get there now it'd be a catastrophe given our form all season. Even the bookies odds tell the same story.

While it may look like it I don't think we can assume that Malky wanted to use "the minimum required".
He may not have found the right players in his search and we all know what bad picks can do to a team. He was sensible not to hire just anyone.
