Penalty Decisions - About Time Our Luck Changed

Sun Mar 03, 2013 12:16 pm

We have had 3 penalties this season the last being in October. None since we have been top of the league. Is that just a coincidence ? The reason to ask that question is some of the decisions in recent matches for example.

Against Bristol City when Campbell was wrestled to the ground when he had a tap in from 2 yards. The lineman was right in line and the ref not too far away. The most blatant penalty not awarded.

Against Brighton when Ballamy was brought down inside the box, a free kick awarded just outside.
Against Boro when there was a handball all be it from a short distance but it was going in.

These are match changing decisions that can define a season. Its about time that our luck change and we have a share of the 11 that Palace have been awarded. We have been awarded 3 between Aug - Oct and Whitts scored all 3. Lets hope that we do get a few on the run in. :malky:

Couldn't believe the ref did not give us a penalty just after the restart yesterday. We don't seem to have much luck against Middlesborough.

We had all our penalty luck in 08-09, not due any more for a good few years. That season was ridiculous how many penalties we got.

Spot on - in 08-09 we were awarded the most in the Division 16. We scored 12 out of the 16. We have not had the luck since !
