After watching the Premier League over previous seasons it is quite mad how they are always consistent in being up there every season.
You have Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool spending their millions on players in the market trying to keep up yet United some how never spend badly as them lot.
You look at who they brought in lately.. Robin Van Persie, Kagawa, Lad from Crewe and the Dutch fullback.
You look at their line up with the likes of Carrick, Valencia.. you wouldn't think they would be players who are key to winning the Premier League title but they are fantastic players.
They manage to even keep up in Europe with their squad.
Even Giggs and Scholes play their part.
Quite mad if you think about it like that.

You do realise Valencia and Carrick cost a combined £34 million between them don't you?

Considering how long they have been there it's money well spent.
At least they didn't flop like Carroll, Torres.

Carroll - £35m
Hazard - £32m
Torres - £50m
Ferguson gets team players in to do the job. Very rarely does he take a risk on a potential prima donna. He knew it was worth it with Ronaldo because he was an exceptional talent. Valencia is a hard working proven winger in the Premier League and was known at Wigan for his stamina and work rate. Fletcher does impeccably in midfield to sweep up allowing the others to create.
He gets players in who do the simple things great. This allows the world class players to do what they need to do get the results and points on the board. O'Shea has never been a name but he was brilliant for Ferguson and could fill in anywhere in the back 4 and do a job consistently alongside anyone. Then you have Jones who can even do a job in CDM if called upon.
This is why I respect Ferguson. Players like Park and Fletcher fit in, do a job as is required of them and he respects them. No fancy nonsense, just getting on with things.
It's also the reason we are top this season. No Bothroyd's trying to the star of the show and although on his day he is unplayable I'd rather a consistent team player who just gets the job done to a satisfactory level every game than a player who may or may not turn up.
Olofinjana wasn't consistent, Gunnarsson is, another difference. Malky has, like Fergie, at a lower level got team players in with a great work ethic. He then has the likes of Bellamy, Noone and Fraizer who can work a bit of magic and get the goals needed.
This is what annoys me when people say they want Bothroyd back. When he was good, he was good but how often? He had half a good season with us then was majorly inconsistent. When Bothroyd was shit we may as well had 10 men on the pitch because he'd just moan, call it a day himself basically if he weren't up for it. None of that selfless crap under Malky.
We're a team under Malky, a team he built and a team he believes in and a team he's got to the top of the table with.

^ thank you for backing me up on it.
One of the players I like watching is Wayne Rooney, he ent a striker no more but he built a great partnership with RVP.
Come with a price tag you need to show why your worth that much and also show some loyalty.
How much was Hernandez? He doesn't start much but he is one hell of a striker.

I am quite surprised you talk about united's bargains without mentioning evra and vidic.
They have had some shockers (berbs over the years but fergie definately does better than average in the transfer market.
They key is they tend to win stuff so even when someone fails they usually get close to their money back on them.

Forgot them pair.
Man City managed to catch them last season but United weren't to worried as they have the consistency to be up their.

Dimitar Bervatov was quite a cheap flop tbf

Michael Carrick is one of my favourite players of all time. The way he can pass the ball is unreal, makes it look so effortless. I'd like to see him play next to Whitts, with Gunnarsson sitting behind them
Also agree about Rooney, although he ain't the presence up front that he was a few years ago, he's instrumental to Utd's transition between midfield and attack. Sitting behind RVP/Welbeck and Hernandez he does a hell of a job

I actually watched the United v Norwich game Saturday, me and a couple if mates went to Manchester for the weekend and got some tickets for the game, first thing was the atmosphere in the East Stand was dire, no better than CCS, It might have been better in the Stretford End but I couldn't tell because we was so far away from it, It seemed the only real noise come from the Norwich fans but that was only several times in the 90 mins.
As well as that actually watching the game they didn't seem to be a faultless as they do watching he TV, lots of individual errors and the only real 'on the ball' individual brilliance seem to come from Rooney.
That being said Norwich had no chance against them, but I certainly don't fear potentially playing them next season as much as did prior to seeing them Saturday.
One thing I will say is the atmosphere around the stadium prior to the match was exceptional, that pub called the 'Bishops Blaize' was crazy, I felt so out of place being a 'non supporter' not that I'd have dared admit that, the place was alive with singing fans and photos of the United greats and a huge can bar selling cans of Stella for £2.50, basically it was like a pub that was occupied by our away fans but before a home game with 20 times more people!

They scored like 3 goals in the last 20 minutes.
The build up for that Kagawa goal was world class.

How was Berba a flop? He scored almost 1 in 2 for United. People say he was bad and a flop because he looks lazy and doesn't chase down like Rooney does or Hernandez but his goal ratio there is good. Berbatov just had better strikers in front of him and a better impact sub to choose in Hernandez. That doesn't make him a flop.
Even Ferguson has come out and said he weren't a flop and he is right.

Always rated Berbatov at Spurs.

Is more to do with the winning mentality. In the 90's United had a unbelievably talented squad of old heads and young wonder kids.....they won pretty much everything, new players came into the squad (which has never been en mass) always 1 or 2 player each year. That way they settle in to the squads winning mentality without rocking the boat.
The players ferguson signs are quality footballers but could easily flop in the wrong kind of surroundings. Having a gaffa that has been at the club long than a lot of the players have been alive helps keep that continuity.
RVP said when he signed for United, after his few few training sessions he knew he would win medals and his choice was the right one, the players have an undoubted swagger and composure about them that he never experienced in his career before.
Wed Mar 06, 2013 3:15 pm
RVP got labelled as a money grabber etc.
He will always get loads of dosh each way.
He left because he wanted to win trophies/medals and he will do that with United.
He left at the right time because he is getting on but still in s**t hot form.

When I saw that picture earlier today I wondered what the controversy was about as it looked a clear red, but then looking at it from the other side and with the context of Evra's clearance you can clearly see it's accidental.
Nice to see the closet Mancs and Scousers though
