I honestly think we got what we deserved today

Sat Mar 02, 2013 11:26 pm

Nothing.

Just got home. Just over 20 hours spent out on the road, in the pubs and and watching the City, with once again a great bunch of Cardiff fans on Carlos tours. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Boro 2 Cardiff C 1
Shocking we never wore our Blue away kit :(

Boro have only one once in their previous 9 games.
Cardiff's first defeat away defeat in the last 10 games.

But the truth is I thought we were awful in the first half and never got out of first gear. a sloppy goal we gave away,Boro's 2nd goal was quality though. Yes we went for it in the second half and we gave it our all, but the damage was already done.

Never mind, Derby County will pay for it on Tuesday Night. :ayatollah: :malky: :ayatollah:

" VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM "

Cardiff City boss Malky Mackay said: "I thought we had 10 minutes in the first half where we gave two bad goals away.

"We'd started really well and finished the half really well and second half we gave everything… and really penned in Middlesbrough.

"On another day a couple of those at the end would have dropped in.

"Fraizer Campbell had a header that bounces down and just over the bar and he had the shot where he's hit the guy's hand and the referee's said it's too close for him to give a penalty.

"But the ball's going into the net so on another day it could have been a draw."

As you said the damage was done in the 1st half, Nugent to start on Tuesday and carry on where we left off in the 2nd half :ayatollah:

What disappointed me about yesterday Annis, besides the result obviously, was us not playing in our "Official" second colours of Blue & White. In fact it was the 2nd time inside a week where we should have worn our "Away" strip but failed to do so.

With the club on the verge of returning to the top tier of football pyramid it is now obvious to me that I will not see the club I love play in the top division in the colours I have associated with the team for over 48 years. None of us should be surprised by this as Tan has already decided his money gives him the right to run roughshod over our history but at the outset of this rebrand we were told, after a few u-turns, that our Blue and White colours would remain as our away colours. Not even that promise is being honoured and for me it is absolutely disgraceful.

In his BBC interview this week VT had the nerve to suggest that our club had won nothing since 1927 whilst playing in Blue, he did actually have the front to say that, and that deeply offended me. Little wonder that the list of honours achieved by our club are no longer listed on the inside page of the matchday programme, you will find them on page 8. Try and find them listed on the official website like they once were, it's like we have no past or nothing to feel proud about.

We are still the only British club from below the top tier to reach a European Competition Semi Final only to lose in a heartbreaking manner to FC Hamberg, a team filled with West German Internationals. What about our 22 Welsh Cup victories our 2 League Championships and our 8 League runners up ALL achieved wearing our "Blue" colours. I should be loving this season but I'm not and the reason is the Rebrand and the Bullshit spouted by TAN in his TV interview has done little to help. Tan spoke about staying as long as people were not "Rude" to him but when is someone going to tell him that he was "Rude" about our history, our achievements our heritage.

I know there is nothing I can do about Tan and his rebrand but I will never accept it, I will never buy anything in Red with the beer mat crest on it and I will never accept any free Red scarf. NEVER.

But I will continue to watch the club I love, to buy my season ticket and wait until Tan gets bored and sells the club on. Then hopefully we can get back to watching our club play in our colours with the "Bluebird" sitting in it's rightful position at the centre of the club crest.

Gary, As you know I highly respect your views and I know you have tried to give Tan respect and hoped he would respect us back, but it seems not. I can see its hurting you now like myself and others. This season could of been one of the greatest/proudest moments of being a Cardiff City fan this season. Anyone who dares question Tan is removed.

Annis i think its harsh to say we deserved nothing granted we were sloppy 1st half and although i never normally question selection i think malky got it wrong pairing turners and connaly we know it doesnt work after Peterbrough and even after hudson went off at wolves we looked sloppy through centre. I think when Nugent come on we looked stronger and he has to start tuesday, we rattled boro second half and bar some bad luck Campbells header and i think was great save from keeper for helgusons header we would have grabbed somthing, we're all dissapointed but as this league proves week after week anyone can beat anyone, we'll beat derby tuesday and get back on track

Thats whats great about having different opinions, we paid the price for in my opinion being awful in the first half, I do agree we were a different team second half.

I always enjoy reading Castleblues posts and the one above is brilliant.

That should be cut and pasted every time that whopper CRAIGCCFC sneers at people against the rebrand renewing their season tickets.

We were here a long time before Tan and hopefully a long time after him. :malky:

Like Polo and Annis, I always respect castleblue's posts as well, even though I can't feel the same way about the rebrand, as I do support it and VT (and my reasons are that I feel he does have business reasons for the change to red, and the only ultimate way that the rebrand can be tested is with the passage of a few years, as I firmly believe they are long term and not short term plans and will probably only be able to be judged when we look back at them in about a decade's time).

However, I feel castleblue's post is very sensibly put and a perfectly fair way to present the anti-rebrand position. I think a lot of anti-rebrand and pro-blue posters would do a lot more for their cause if they presented similarly thoughtful and reasonable arguments as castleblue has done here.

I also think we deserved a point after the second half display, Campbell's header from a corner was caught too well and bounced over the bar with the keeper beaten. :ayatollah:
