it works both ways, player securing his future, and team putting a price tag on his head if he did want to go :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Do you honestly think Malky won't give all the first team a chance to prove themselves first....We won't go nuts in the transfer market if we get promoted.

Safe to say we won't put a bid in for Torres ;)

We will need more than 5 senior defenders in the premiership. Turner and Hudson are worth tying down even if they both ended up being back up. Not sure about Mcnaughton but I'm sure there would also be room for Taylor and Connolly in the 25 man squad. It's midfield that we are swamped with options this season. Smith, Kim, noone, Conway, Bellamy, whitts, Gunnarson, cowie, Mutch could all be in next years 25 which doesn't leave much room for any additions. Up front I'd expect Campbell, Maynard and mason to be joined by some new players. Players who renew there contract this season will be on cheaper deals than those that renew next year if we get promoted and look like staying up.

Players like turner and Taylor have a resale value.

If we go up and they are a success we have saved ourselves major money on a salary as we already have them tied down.
If they don't perform, champ clubs will want them no doubt.
