Nice piece Carl.

Reluctantly I've come to the conclusion that if we are able to retain the Bluebird on the badge, we can consider it a phyric victory.

It's shameful that we are unable to enjoy our position at the top of the Championship because of the re-brand.

Anyway, 3 points today please!

Very sensible piece, as always Carl, although for me, I definitely want to retain the bluebird, but rather than it playing second fiddle to the Dragon on the badge, I'd prefer to see it prominently displayed somewhere else on the shirt.

I agree entirely about TG - that saddened me yesterday.

Good piece Carl. When the BBC piece was being disseminated ahead of the interview footage last Thursday, I searched around for evidence specifically on the name change from the original BBC source. Couldn't find anything but there was reference to it (name change) on BBC teletext while nothing on the web/social. Watched the interview later and also the extended version. Didn't hear anything specific there either. An interview with TG is always going to be very "newsworthy" but I think the thing that bothers me is BBC Wales timing on this given our position. I'd like to see BBC Wales actually get behind City a lot more in terms of news and other programme/web content. It also annoys me that we also don't get the coverage we deserve on the Football League show, especially as league leaders. C'mon Bluebirds.

Without VT we would be nowhere near the top of the Championship, so would have nothing to enjoy, apart from certain administration/probable liquidation and the likelihood that we were going to be playing our last ever game (all be it in blue).

I'm extremely happy that the vast majority have accepted the changes and are thoroughly enjoying our position at the top of the Championship.

I can see where vt is coming from,if he didnt Invest when he Did,club would of gone Into admin, and sam wouldnt have got a penny,so he should be thanking vt and be happy he ll be getting millions.

I'm not thinking of it until end of season.
Want to make the most of the brilliant team we have on the pitch at the moment :malky: :ayatollah:

No point talking about it imo. VT will never see it :x

I still think the best compromise would be to incorporate a bluebird image onto the team shirt if it is not to appear on the club badge.

To different sections of the Cardiff City fan base both VT and Sam Hammam are villains for one reason or the other. But if you look at their initial investment plans both had very similar ideas about marketing Cardiff City.

Indeed our unique position within the English pyramid system has been seen as a valuable asset to exploit for years and often in the old days we would wonder way no-one would-not take a punt?

So why not get them both together on the club board (the Chairmanship is vacant?)and take the dream on to the next level. I personally have admiration for both men and I would love to see both using their business acumen for the betterment of Cardiff City even if that means being known in the Far East as the “Dragons”

Vincent doesn't want the Bluebird, as per his interview, he's correct it's a brand that has never been successful. What's the point of arguing over it. The Dragon is quality, It's Welsh, it's a strong branding.

Well IMO and most others, Roathy is a Tit and an Obsessed bore of a jack troll who posts his cheap shots to get biters arguing with each other - that's how he gets his thrills. And that's why he's just been banned. I think someone disclosed his name on another thread he hijacked, so you may be able to follow his 'good viewpoint' on Facebook or Twitter. Paxman next. IMO mods doing a good job of quality control by banning these cretins.

I don't know what his viewpoint is on anything else or if he really is a 'Jack Troll'

But he has made a point about the 'Bluebird' branding; and for all the affection we may have for it over the years it hasn't exactly been a marketing success outside the club shop.

The Dragon on the other hand seems to have some amazing potential which could unlock £Millions if marketed correctly in the Far East.

Myself I call that a 'good viewpoint' and one that doesn't require an uneducated response such as 'tit'

Hmmm. Well it would appear your on your own there, as from everybody else's 'viewpoint', Roath Magic is a serial 'Tit' and that's why he has been yet again 'Banned'.

Well Tony I'm stunned with you over this comment. What does it matter if we have had no success with the name? It is what we are known as, simple really.

Ian I'm stunned at fans who still think we can live beyond our means indefinatley. My view is born out of the feelings of dread I had when we came within weeks of being wound up in 2010.

I don't want to lose the blue kit or the bluebird emblem, but they are a price I would pay to stop us losing everything (including our name and identity) due to liquidation.

There is also the future card, i.e. we crack the Far East market become self-sustaining and revert to the blue kit and emblem once VT has sold us on.

Far better that than becoming a sad footnote in football history.
