The man who brought Cardiff City's Malaysian owner Vincent Tan into the club has resigned as a director.

Dato Chan Tien Ghee, better known to thousands of Cardiff fans as TG, ceased to be a director of Cardiff City FC and the parent holding company on February 25, according to papers filed with Companies House today.

TG was the man who persuaded Vincent Tan to buy into Cardiff City when the club was having financial difficulties under Peter Ridsdale.

He has been Chairman of the club since May 2010.

Cardiff City chairman Dato Chan Tien Ghee resigns

Cardiff City have confirmed Dato Chan Tien Ghee, better known as TG to supporters, has resigned as chairman.
TG persuaded Vincent Tan to buy into Cardiff City when the club was having financial difficulties under Peter Ridsdale.
The Malaysian has been chairman of Cardiff since May 2010 and a director since May 2009.
"TG is embarking on new career and business pursuits that requires his full attention," said a club statement.
"Given constraints of time and distance, TG believes he is unable to meet the demands of his position as Chairman and board member of Cardiff City Football Club.
"We are greatly indebted to TG who since joining in 2010 has been instrumental in the progress of the Club to where it is today, and we wish to record our deep appreciation for his invaluable contributions and efforts.
TG was a business partner of Vincent Tan's when he urged dollar billionaire Tan to become another of the club's Malaysian backers.

We havnt had anything yet! So until then only speculate reasons, and this board at moment is more negative than a doomsday merchant!

I dont think he was altogether happy with what tan was doing but seeing tan in them simon cowell trousers must have been the last straw

They were speaking about it on bbc news, and questions were put at malky at the press conference today. He also stated the name will not be changing.

Gutted TG has resigned, met him a few times and came across as genuine, well spoken and down to earth. Good luck to him anyway I say. Definitely need someone with more of a footballing brain now though.
