ONE OF THE POINTS FROM MALKY'S MEETING

Fri Mar 01, 2013 8:26 am

Sorry to talk football and be a bit positive

During the meeting with Malky in the week, he was asked about dossiers and studying rival teams, and the amount of info they have is mind blowing, they have people watching and compiling statistics on rival teams all the time with up to date info as and when they approach a game.

Not only that but as soon as the game starts. Malky has a staff member analising the formation the other team start with and Malky is constantly fed this info during the game, if the other team change in anyway, then Malky is told and reacts accordingly.

I noticed during the Wolves game the players were passing a note around, never noticed this before but apparently it's something he does often, he'll get a note sent on with specific instructions as and when needed.

One thing he said and It's something I have noticed this season, and even though I have watched football for years, in truth I haven't got a clue about formations and tactics, but this year I can notice a far more patient but relentless approach, there doesn't seem to be the panic and headless chicken scenario we have seen in previous years.

Malky said as much and they will form the info gathered know what to do and what to expect from rival teams and will keep chipping away until they see a chink ( and not a Korean) in their armor and one of their players is out of position and then go for the jugular.

It really was an eye opener hearing about the set up behind the scenes and the specialist's they use for all aspects of fitness, nutrition, recovery, etc is top class, it's all in place, let's just get there. :malky: :malky: :malky:

Very interesting, I've seen the note thing quite often when a sub comes on he passes it to the relevant player, funny to see

Positive post. More of these today please - let's all get back to the football after yesterdays events. So I've now missed two good events that I would have liked to have been at - the Malky night that Gwyn attended and I was also away for the Class Of '83 evening. Bugger.

Saw this last year, sub came on and handed Miller a note, which he then threw away - think Malky was asking him to aim below row Z for at least 50% of his chances...

Don't be so mean, he's on a mission to bring everyone back round again.

Although I do agree it's done in nearly every country and every club across Europe

Some one asked what did it say on the note and was it score for f**k sake, and Malky jokingly replied, no it was for Cowie and it said if you don't do some more running your off.
Also found out it was Malky who locked Bellers in the bog once on the Norwich coach, heard about this incident years ago, but didn't realise it was Malky that did it.

nothing new there gwyn i remember when samesh kumar used to pass a note to joan hill who would leave the directors box and go down to the dug out pass the note to kenny hibbit who who then make the relevant substitution.
the reason russell osman did not last long was he sent the note straight back to samesh with feck off written on it. true story
