So you ask for a prediction, I give you one, and then you dismiss my prediction. Knob. Go to your politics forum to discuss things if that is your attitude.

I didn't look at any statistics whatsoever. I just chose a party and made a prediction. No different to the grand national. Just pick a horse regardless of the odds and it comes in then happy days.

I only bet on the grand national (£10 usually) and do a weekly £1 accumulator on football. Yes, I'm living the dream.

Lib Dems

Re: Eastleigh by-election

Its going to be closer than many think but the Tories have all but given up, should have seen some of the faces on the tory activists, not looking good. Conservatives have got to win these types of seats, it's quite shocking that they haven't managed to batter the Lib Dems tonight considering everything thats going on.

UKIP are throwing a spanner in the works big time, what will Cameron do because he's got to do something? My bet is he will brign forward the referendum on the EU to next year. That will kill off UKIP, whatever the result, before the next election giving the tories a clear run.

Labour won't win this type of seat, not the place for it. Too many strivers. However this is a great by election for them because it's tearing the coalition apart.

I agree just having a referendum would kill off UKIP as thats all they have ever wanted. However I don't think Cameron will last until the next election. Boris may be flown in to fight it IMO

Not going to happen Adam, it's a fantastic idea though because Boris is a certain vote winner. Problem is Boris Johnson won't leave his post as mayor early. Its not the "done" thing in that type of post. Plus he's not a member of parliament so not feasible.

There are a number of Greater London tory MP's who are willing to give their seat up for Boris to get back into Parliament so that won't be a problem especially if they finish 3rd tonight there will be a few meetings behind closed doors within tory ranks tonight.

Interesting, but would it reflect badly on the party that they are forcing a by election for the mayor of London. The voters of London will not appreciate that and it costs a lot of money. Plus how sure are they that Boris will oust Cameron? Too much to do, too much risk involved and far too much to lose.

They are creating a beast in Boris, he'll be brought in next term and I can guarantee the Tories will get the reward because the man will bring out the neutrals to vote for him.

I think the voters in London would be proud if their man was to take on the Prime Minister and wouldn't mind a by-election on that basis. But lets be honest nothing will happen if Boris isn't offered the support from the party ranks because he's not stupid.

I think the Boris interest may fall off if he has to wait 7.5 years from now for a general election. If he's going to do go for it then it would have to be sooner rather than later.
