Tan didn't say that the name will stay.

Thu Feb 28, 2013 6:51 pm

He said that if we get to the premiership then they will look at things.

He also said that unless we are nice to him then he'll sell his shares/debt on to someone else.

Well do us PROPER FANS a favour and sell up before you rip the remaining shred of history we have, our name, from our hearts.

i use the term PROPER FANS in response to the wankers who have wrote in the echo that us true blue brigade are not wanted at the club.

Cardiff City Official site.

Tan Sri Vincent Tan has today moved to assure supporters that a possible name change to Cardiff City Football Club will not be happening.

By means of the following statement Tan Sri said:

“I can assure all supporters that we will not be changing our name from Cardiff City Football Club, a club I am very proud to be a part of. Our name is our identity and remains at our core. I would not want any of our supporters to be concerned that this change would be made, hoping that this personal commitment from myself removes any fears.

“I believe the colour change is positive and will bring good tidings to Cardiff City Football Club. At this point of time, no decision has been made to change the club crest for the next season.

“For the present day, all I would ask is that we all join together, continuing your excellent support at what is a critical juncture in our season. Our collective aim is to back Malky Mackay and his team as they work hard to bring us all success. Working together we can achieve great things in the name of Cardiff City Football Club.”

Yes but the interview is a few days old, the OFFICIAL update is not

at what point will his fans realise that he is a business man not a football man.
he said it himself, but i think they didn't hear it. he has no interest in us local fans, he is only interested in asia and the possibilities of having a new owner buy the club. if that means he has to change our name then he will.

Jam, certain fans only want to hear what they want to hear, not our identity.

we wont be blackmailed thats for sure. that sort of shit goes down in Asia all the time, not here so much. take your cash somewhere else and move on then vince, we will always be cardiff city or we are dead anyway. stop messing about with shit you dont have to anyway, ffs could have been a legend in south wales....

Agreed. Some of our fans are delusional and think club statements are 100% the truth. I for one will never believe a word he says. The guy is a plonker. He see's us as a business and a brand, he see's us fans as customers and will draw money out of the club hence wanting Sam back on the board. That means he doesn't have to pay off the initial debt and can draw the money straight out.

He must think some of us were born yesterday but even if he stays we'll eventually end up in admin because we'll go straight down the same road Liverpool went down but unlike Liverpool who had many investors lining up to cover their debts, we don't.

Put it this way, he is a billionaire business man, which says to me that he knows a thing or two about business

SOO if he changed the name that would make many people walk away from cardiff city football club, so in effect loosing money because ticket sales would no doubt take a massive hit

Just think about how tan got to where he is now and think wether this sounds like a good business venture to you
