Firstly I rang the FA who directed me to the football league in order that I could get information to enquire if Cardiff City had requested to change the name of the club. They would not be drawn on the issue and suggested that I write to the club direct.
I then did some searching on who owns the domain names for cardiff dragons and when they were registered.
cardiffdragons.net is owned by Barry Scanlon who is registered in Florida and he registered the domain in May 2012.
cardiffdragons.co.uk is owned by Cardiff City Korfball Club which was established in 2003 by a group of ex-Cardiff University Korfers who wanted to carry on playing the sport after their educational career. They registered the name in 2006.
cardiffdragons.com is owned by a Swiss guy called Andre Shneider who registered the name in 2008.
cardiffdragons.asia and cardiffcity.asia is owned by someone that I know really well and was purchased recently.
There is no indication that Tan owns any of the rights to the domains but I suppose he would simply just make the owners an offer if he wanted the domains that badly.
