Been there, done that, got the t-shirt and don't wanna do it again. 1971 I started this journey and this is as close as we've come to the top flight. I desperately want to go to the Prem as Cardiff City but I would never want to risk going back to the "good ole days" :old:

You started supporting Cardiff City the Bluebirds in 1971. Don't pretend that the red Cardiff Dragons is the same thing.

No, not the same and not something that would be my first choice as I said, but I really don't want to go back to where we have been. Each to their own though.

What an idiotic thread!! We are glory supporters because we want the best for our club ?? and let's be honest the reason we support the team is to see them winning and making us proud and the dream for any club is to get promoted and end up in the premier league! surely thats what we all want?? just like the other poster said we've waited way to long to now go back to those so called "not so good old days"! The other poster said he's been supporting our club for 30-40 years I'm pretty sure that is not the definition of a glory supporter!!

Take Southampton as an example

Piledriver, I've got some bad news for you. If we do get promoted this season we won't always be a top flight team. There is every chance we could be relegated the next season or the season after that.

Bradford, Swindon, Leeds, Sheff Wed, Sheff Utd, Portsmouth, Coventry etc etc

Are you really happy to see our identity thrown in the bin for what could be a brief spell one division higher? Really??

League 2 no doubt. The ones who voted prem as dragons are pathetic and not real CCFC supporters.

I know, I can hardly believe ONE person would vote for us to be called cardiff dragons just as long as we get to play the mighty wigan and west brom! What the hell is wrong with people.

Also brings the club over £90 million + and playing team Iike man utd, Chelsea, etc and derbies against the jacks!! Bit of a positive spin on it!!

Have to say thought didn't fully read the title and didnt realise it said dragons Lol  I'm pretty confident though our name isn't going to change to the dragons!!

He's played a classic flanker here though. Leak out some bad news, allow the fans to get angry, then confirm that the name wont change. Then when the Bluebird disappears and the stadium goes red, we will all just be grateful we still have our name.

Congratulations tan, you mugged us again you cheeky chappy.

its not about the cash of the Prem. You support the club and want them to win each week. you want to see your side tested against the best, travelling to OT, Anfield. Mixing it with the big boys.

Nobody wants to see the CCS with 2-3000 fans in it playing Burton Albion, and trips to Rochdale!

Grow up! the club doesnt need fans lilke you at all!

Again with the scaremongering!!! Why is it always Prem or league 2??? We could play in any division in BLUE, our traditional colour, is that too much to ask?

I never thought for a minute we would always be in the Prem.

In my eyes our identity is Cardiff City, the club that plays in the city I was born.

Just one shot at the big time that's all I, and many others, want. Mainly because it's the one thing I haven't experienced with this club :ayatollah: If, after 40 odd years, that makes me a plastic or glory hunter so be it. But it's my dream and my father spoke about City in the old 1st Division in the early 60s until his dying day. We may not last long in the Prem but the memories will last a lifetime.

Those of us who have done it, wouldn't want to do it again, that's why at times there were only two thousand crowds, do you think it would be different this time. 8-)

I've been going down since 73.A return to the good ole days? You can shove that.

There is one thing that has got us to the brink of the prem mate - on field investment . Could have been done playing in blue whilst he was never going to walk away until we got to the prem as he wouldn't have made any money on his investment . Red or dead was the biggest lie in all of this

I wasn't suggesting for a minute that they were the "good ole days", far from it. The point I was making was that the re brand in no way guarantees premier league football for any particular length of time. Even with the re brand we could still end up playing back in league 1 within a few seasons if we don't have success on the pitch which is one thing no one can ever guarantee.

There seems to be a bizarre formula appearing from the side that back the re brand, that Red = Premier league and Blue = League two. That is clearly nonsense.

You should change the options too, Cardiff City League 2 on the brink of administration or Cardiff City in the premiership in a stable financial state.

But that would be pointless poll, of course no one wants city in league 2, but why does playing in blue equal that????

Re: PREM OR LEAGUE 2?

Fri Mar 01, 2013 8:33 pm

I cannot fathom the mentality of anyone who would be happy for us to be re named Cardiff Dragons as long as we were in the premier league, I cant believe ONE City fan would even contemplate such a change, but somehow on this website their are 33 people voting for it!!!!!!

Even taking into account one or two meddling jacks, that is still truly unbelievable. Hang your heads in shame.
