CARDIFF DRAGONS MY ARSE

Thu Feb 28, 2013 10:17 am

Have people actually read the piece, coz it looks like some are adding up two and two and making five, now this is the piece relating to Cardiff dragons.

Tan acknowledged the "rumours" that have recently emerged over the use of Cardiff Dragons but added: "We haven't discussed this. I've not really thought about this in detail.

Does that sound like a plan? does it f**k, name me a team in the Prem, or for tham matter the Football League called the Swansea Sharks, the Blackpool Pulls, the Sunderland Vikings, Rugby yes, football no, the League wont allow it full stop.

People are spending their energies looking for negatives and what id scenarios and the good times are passing them by.

And I've still yet to hear a plan B off anyone. :old:

too many internet message boarders jumping the gun as usual, Brighton home showed that these idiots are a very tiny minority

It does however go on to say "but when we get there we will make a decision" which clearly infers that a name change will be discussed. Its not in or out at the moment but as indicated matters will be discussed at the end of the season.

gwyn

i can assure you its been on his mind for months initially with the nickname being changed but now with the possibility of the city being replaced with dragons.
did you think the city missing of the red scarf was a coincidence

Exactly. When I saw the threads I was stunned, but then read the interview it's been blown up. Tan was asked a direct question and he answerd it honestly. He didn't just come out with it he was answering a loaded question. I'm sure he is open to lots of things, name change being one of them. It will get discussed, I don't think it will happen he will have strong oppostion form everyone at the club and the FA.

Have I missed something? When was the nick name changed?

And if it was only Cardiff on the flag, then we are known as cardiff, why didnt he put dragons on it?

Does he think the 23,000 free red scarves will out number the millions of Cardiff City scarves that have been sold over the years?

You can assure us of what Tan is thinking while tan tells us he hasn't even thought about it. I choose to believe tan. I also believe he will discuss it and will be told firmly that there is no way this could happen without major disruption and protest.

Until then enjoy the ride. WE ARE TOP OF THE LEAGUE!

so why do you think he changed the traditional badge to a dragon in the first place.
it was the first part of the ultimate plan to rebrand us with red and the dragon

we may very well be referred to as the 'dragons' in future but replacing city with dragons wont happen! could be worse lads, could be called the f*cking tractor boys!

I understand where your coming from gwyn but his answers don't don't leave fans with much faith in holding onto much more of our identity and tradition.

As you personally seem to back a lot of his decision what do you make of this quote of his?......

"Have they achieved any success under this bluebirds brand?," he asked "So why do we hold onto something that hasn't achieved much success?"

Do you think he has plans to do away with our bluebird?

People said that the rebrand would never happen! You say no plan B? he has clearly stated that if people are not welcoming he will sell and leave the club in good hands. For me thats the route to go down.People tollerate the kit change but his intentions of even considering a name change shows he has no respect to us fans. What ever way you dress it up hes using our club as a toy and has no regard for the tradition and fans of the club! Now the red or dead bollocks is out of the way lets do somthing

I think you have missed the important part of the quote Gwyn "I've not really thought about this in detail" which means he has actually thought about it and is not letting on to what extent. He has already made a point of changing the colour to red and putting a huge red dragon on the badge so surely changing our name to red dragons is a small step change in his eyes.
Tan must know that the name change is the most controversial part of his plans to date and will therefore never admit to planning the change due to the backlash. In my opinion he will try and instigate this change if we were promoted to the PL and use the euphoria to try and offset any critisism. :ayatollah:

Tan knows what he is doing. DID HE DISMISS THE CLAIMS FOR THE NAME CHANGE? NO HE DID NOT. HE SAID ITS SOMETHING HE'D CONSIDER GWYN. THAT IN ITSELF IS INSULTING ENOUGH. ANY RESPECT FOR THE FANS AND HE WOULD HAVE INSTANTLY QUASHED SUCH CLAIMS.

i know what i'm seeing Gwyn. First Scarves with just Cardiff and then not dismissing a possible name change when the question is put to him. People aren't stupid Gwyn. Of course we have read the statement and we have also addressed the tone it was put across in.

Every c**t has a follower ready to bend over backwards for them. Even Hitler had Goebbels. The sooner you climb out of his arse crack the better Gwyn.

It's a repeat of last year. Everyone didn't believe the 'rumours' and then it happened and we did sh*t all about it. This time let's make sure it doesn't happen or you can say goodbye to all of your memories of Cardiff City.

As a journalist myself, I look at what Tan actually said and then how much of it was 'coloured in' by Nick Servini. Gwyn is right, Tan didn't really say anything, he certainly didn't write the headline! As for Servini, he has ensured that everyone will be watching Sport Wales. He has done his job wonderfully, if not accurately.

Btw, im certainly not 'pro- Tan'.
