And so it begins....In terms of the passion, identity, heritage, tradition and locality of British football, this man is a loon. Wish he would sell up and go, yes I am looking forward to seeing Prem footy with my season ticket, (assuming we dont blow it again) but before I renew I want to know exactly how far he is taking our clubs facelift and identity change to suit the people of Malaysia before I do. Just 9 months into the rebrand and so far we have a red and black kit, new dragon badge, rumour of a forthcoming red interior to the stadium, and now Cardiff Dragons FC. NINE MONTHS! Give it 2 years what will it be like then? Playing the odd home game in Malaysia? Malaysian franchises in the ground, dancing dragons on Queen Street selling club shirts? I DONT want to walk away, this is very upsetting to be forced into a position of considering that.
A Harlem Globetrotters style plaything for the people of Malaysia, thats where I think we are heading.
Why no offer of compromise to please everyone - a red and blue combination kit, and bigger bluebird on the badge?
Do you honestly think the chant of "Bluebirds" will stop? Can you hear that? "Dragons! Dragons!" no, neither can I.
Cardiff City is a football club in Cardiff for the people of Cardiff, the valleys and surrounding areas, they are the heartbeat of the club and should always be put first. The very fact we have had no offer of consultation or compromise shows what we are dealing with here. I am grateful for his cash investment to stave us away from administration and to compete for the Premier League, but my gratitude is wearing thinner the more he makes my clubs identity unrecognisable. Its like your favourite band completely changing their sound, style and image to one you dislike. In hindsight would have taken administration and our identity as a welsh club playing in blue and battled the elements to survive bringing the fans together, making us stronger. We are divided now.
I am one of many complainers on here today and the reds will throw their ripened red tomatoes at us and tell us to do one, but THIS IS A FORUM FOR DISCUSSIONS AND DEBATE
