Laudrup to Madrid?

Tue Feb 26, 2013 6:38 pm

Heard on sky 75percent of Real Madrid fans want laudrup as their new manager. Do you think he will stay at Swansea? Or is it too good an opportunity to miss? I'd say he would be a mug to stay at Swansea town when he can go manage one of the biggest if not the biggest team in the world, opportunity might not be there again anytime soon or ever again..

If offered he will go....

none of this "give it another year" shit that a lot of people come out with, next year they could be tonked out of sight, and that chance would never come again.

Pretty much like Rodgers to Liverpool, ok at present they ain't up to much, but that was an opportunity you could not refuse.

He's tipped to go to arsenal. Could be a good bet as wengers days got to coming to an end there.

Also Chelsea could be in the frame aswell, that's 3 champions league clubs, will he pick Europa cup football or champions league given the choice? Hmmm

Laudrup is on record several times as saying he has no interest in managing one of Europe's "big clubs".

But if it gives you all a straw to clutch at, you go for it

Laudrup to somewhere ....Ashley Williams to Liverpool..... Michu to somewhere also......others...?

not such a strong looking unit if that happens.

Deep down you know you cannot keep losing your best players and manager and continue on an upward trend.

The cycle will be broken at some point.

Europe could put a strain on the small squad you operate next season unless prudent old Huw loosens the strings.

Europe next season will make it easier to attract our targets.

The only strings that will be loosened are the ones we can afford. As it should be.

The last statement is flawed, you wont be able to attract players of the next level, even with the lure of european football, if you dont pay the wages. Gems like Michu are not easy to find.

So be it. The future of the club will not be put at risk chasing some impossible dream. We will stay within our budget constraints and see where it takes us.

As is should be.

I'm afraid that even if he were to leave I'm sure they will fill the spot with a good enough manager as they have managed to do the last few times. However, I agree with polo that it only takes one bad decision. All clubs will go through a bad patch in the prem

Its rumours there are much better proven managers that Real madrid chelsea or man City could go for, in all fairness to laudrup he has a lot more to prove yet he seems a good manager and done well at swansea but ReaL Madrid? na dont think so if he does well next season as well maybe worth a risk.

But as laudrup have said he will stay at swansea proves its bullshit as he would walk from swansea to madrid for that job as any manager would

Nice of him to say that when he's not had any official offers yet...

Reminds me of Uncle Brendan a bit...

Rodgers chased the prestige and cash. Laudrup needs neither of those and will not go to any club where he does not have complete control.

If Real or Barca are interested in him he won;t be able to turn them down, he his prime years at those clubs and won half a dozen titles at them, he also has a history of interest in managing in Spain.

Also he's far too classy a guy to manage you.

You may have Brendan back if you wish though, I will allow that as I think he's a massive tw*t and overrated. :D

I'd also like to point out he doesn't tend to stay at the same club for more than 18 months, there always seems to be a reason he leaves early.

Indeed, and that is usually because he is being undermined by the club owner/president/chairman.

Which is why he is so happy here.

Banter and clubs aside, obviously I don't know Laudrup as well as you do but if one of the world's top clubs came in I really don't see how he can turn them down.
