Question about this so-called new club

Sat Feb 23, 2013 9:25 pm

If a new club did get started and everything at CCFC returned to its original colour after a future takeover then what would happen to the so-called new club..?

most will probs go back to Cardiff because it will be less work and time, however can see a few making a real go of it if they are driven enough

I'm guessing the new club would be scrapped

Any new club would be a rival to Cardiff city and always will be.
A new club with no history until they play a game.

FC United of Manchester aren't rivals to Manchester United.

Crap example? Look up FC United videos on youtube, they sing songs praising MUFC and chant about Glazer in a negative way, they also wear MUFC shirts. They formed a new club because of their hatred for the owners, not the club.

So?
And why not?

I don't get the logic? Support bluebirds.com.cardiffFC or Swansea, same thing to me.

The new club idea is simple if you think about it, I'm not saying that I would support it but I can understand why it has been suggested.

Most FC United fans are still Manchester United fans to be honest.

I don't get it sorry.

If I wanted to pick a new club I'd do a soccer am and pick one out a hat.

I wouldn't tho, if I didn't support Cardiff city FC then I'd just stop, a replacement isn't an idea id consider in the slightest.

I normally find you to be a sensible poster, but I don't get this thinking at all. Ok, fine you wouldn't support another club but some people want to feel like they've got a connection with their club again. The best way to do that is by forming one where you know you'll be surrounded by like-minded individuals, and supporting somthing you are proud to be a part of because you can say you were part of it from the beginning.

Fans of FC United of Manchester don't want to give their money to an owner who isn't running the club they love properly, as MUFC are millions in debt. FC United was formed so the fans could make the decisions and still be able to do their usual routine of going to the football and having a laugh etc, but they still want Manchester United to succeed.

It's a very similar situation here. Although VT is running the club well in all honesty, it's just the whole rebrand thing and all this debt. Some of our fans just aren't enjoying it anymore, and that says a lot when we're top of the league and on the verge of Premier League football.

If you want to start a new club, go ahead do it. People do it every day, encompassing all sorts of sports and activities. However you will never be Cardiff City A.F.C. And the only thing you ever will be is a protest club. You will never threaten or rival cardiff City A.F.C. You will become so insignificant that you will rarely be mentioned in football circles.
You wont even affect the attendance at Cardiff City A.F.C. bar 50 or 60 fans on a park pitch.

The aims aren't to threaten or rival Cardiff City...

It's meant to be a new club for fans who have given up on Cardiff City, nothing more or less.

I can understand the suggestion, but it won't take off anyway.

At least they could look at themselves in the mirror and say that they had the Bollox to do something.
Some of you are a fuckin embarrassment, no pride,no principles.
What next, Malaysian Dragons in the Prem!! Ffs grow a pair rather than sticking your arse in the air.
I'm talking as a Bristol City fan who always thought as your fans as having pride, the ONLY ones with any pride are people who are trying do do something to get your club back.

You currently are a laughing stock to all other fans in the UK.
Real respect for those trying to do something about that, zero respect to all you who are basically cowards who won't fight for your club.

We have nothing to worry about, if we go down so be it, at least we still have our club and our dignity.
I'm sure we will play you again in a couple of years, that's if you dont fold when the Malaysian does his runner with the ££££ he's made!
I would rather be in the Conference with my pride than the ££££ league and none at all.
