The chairman believes he can maximize the marketing of the club especially in Asia if we wear red and have a dragon as our emblem. This will lead to future investment into the club, reducing our debts and running the club on a more stable financial footing.
That is the logical answer.

I don't believe in this "Far East market" bollocks. The only clubs that can attract fans from Asia are clubs with big history (like Liverpool) or top 4 clubs.

To be honest I don't know why he has done it but I would like to think that a millionaire business man had some kind of plan here and not just changing it on a whim or because it is his lucky colour.
You would have thought he would have engaged the supporter groups for opinions and ideas regarding phasing in a new badge and some kind of compromise kit if that is what he wanted to do but ....?.. sigh!
I wish he hadn't done it as all it has caused is unrest and bad feelings among the supporters particularly on the message boards, with some fans have been going for years ( I have been going since 1970/71)
Instead of enjoying possibly our best season of my lifetime on the pitch , all the enjoyment is being sapped out of the season.

tan knows the Asian market, he knows what sells and what doesn't, hes taken a gamble and it is a massive gamble because of whats happened but hes got the money to take that gamble, who are we to tell a successful business man what works? we might not get the whole marketing in asia will help us but he does and we need to get on board for the very least to see if the debt will be cleared, we are all hurt by the colour change and the dragon being the main emblem but we need to be fans and support malky and the team and let tan a SUCCESSFUL business man RUN the BUSINESS side of the club.
