Fc bluebirds of cardiff what a joke

Sat Feb 23, 2013 1:58 pm

If that don't sound like a franchise club I don't know what does, embarrassing sounds like a Sunday league team and a cheap rip off of that fc united of Manchester or whatever it is.

You should know that's not what the team will be called, the name of the club is still being discussed but the majority of members are looking at AFC Cardiff, which I think sounds good. But if you do have a problem with stupid franchise names and teams then I would suggest you brace yourself.

Absolute bollox and Polo knows who you are as well. The reason why you even got 87 in your username is because that's the year Merthyr won the Welsh cup!!!! The only reason you started going g down the City because for a couple of seasons you become a steward with your father for nothing else other than to watch the games for free!!!!

I do hope Polo backs me up on this one !!!!

AFC Cardiff still sounds shit, not quite cardiff city isit.
Cardiff City is still alive and kicking on strong as far as I'm concerned so I will support them not a fake cardiff team

Some of you make me ashamed to support Cardiff City. Fans are doing something that they believe in and all you lot can do is moan. I hope you get your red PL football, then in a couple of season when City get relegated again you're left crying.

No, but it's inevitable. It could happen in 10 years time but the situation will be the same.

Well go support fc bluebird of canton then instead, should be a good crack watching them play conference teams for a few years while CARDIFF CITY are playing man united arsenal Chelsea and our local rivals Swansea

Conference teams? are you joking even with all the best luck in the world it would take ten years to get anywhere near the Conference, that's if they were even allowed into the English pyramid, imagine if you were a team a the very bottom of that pyramid and been struggling for years to advance and suddenly a new team, from a different country get given a place higher up the leagues than you.

I don't think to much thought has gone into this to be honest, doomed to fail before it starts, but time will tell, it didn't get far earlier this year when it was firs banded about. :old:

Re: Fc bluebirds of cardiff what a joke

Sun Feb 24, 2013 8:11 am

they would have to register with the FAW first so that would mean winning the 10 leagues in the welsh system before even thinking of joining the english system

20-25 years before conferance football minimum

Fair enough. I don't know much about the Welsh system myself as I will admit I have always been pretty ignorant of it as its not one of the top leagues. Prefer the Championship, Bundesliga and Premier League.

The best thing they can do is start a Kickstarter fund, offer people who want trials to play for the team etc. Money goes towards kits being made, rent of a ground, etc. etc. People will donate for various reasons from generosity to having a keen interest in the idea and someone being proactive.

A mate at university raised £10,000 for his software project on there and he only asked for £5,000 but he got 100% more on top because people really wanted it to be made so they could use it.

£20 for a trial and you'll get takers on that no problem. Easy to trial players, just get a mate who's in the profession to help out and you can do it on the cheap easily enough so you''re making money.

This is the problem I feel they will run into. Every last detail needs to be thought out beforehand, administration costs covered and so forth.

Surely if Tan changes the club name to Cardiff Dragons or whatever then the new club set up by the fans could then be called Cardiff City FC? Or is there a rule against using previous club names?

there moaning about the rebrand but making a new club is totally the same!

I remember when Newport County went out of business in 1989 and the fans formed a new club, they decided to go with Newport AFC rather than use Newport County which was legalely owned by them at the time.

It caused a huge argument and at least 50% of the old fan base walked away and never returned.

10 years later the club reverted to calling itself 'Newport County' but by then the damage was well and truely done.

So whether you go with AFC Cardiff or Bluebirds FC it won't make one iota of difference, 99% of CCFC fans will support that team and no other, never mind what colour kit they play in.

Firstly it would depend on who owns the name 'Cardiff City Football Club'

With all that insight Gwyn I was just wondering what experience do you have in helping to start up a welsh club in the english system..?

Take it from me who do to my job at the time helped Merthyr reform in the english system and as per usual you are talking bollox

Re: Fc bluebirds of cardiff what a joke

Sun Feb 24, 2013 1:14 pm

I dont think its a joke, a break-away club is not action but reaction on what is happening to the club all of us really love: CARDIFF CITY FC

I wouldnt want a different Cardiff club more than you do, but whats left? my CCFC is dying a slow death, I know some see it as achievement, to me and many others its heartbreaking. and I really mean that.

to me the only thing left is the name CCFC, and I define my club's identity by its colour, crest and name. the values of my club, the traditions...things that are currently stamped on.

said it b4, seriously tried to accept the changes, telling myself it doesnt mean anything, just carry on. but i cant lie to myself.

still got a bit of hope left, someone would come in and turn things around. but our problem is our disunited fanbase, if we stood united against the changes, we would have succeeded. and I dont mean bully Tan, but to make him realise his path is wrong.
but as us traditionalists were laughed at, belittled and even threatened, the divide became greater and many of us drove this even further away.

all of you, who find it funny, call people names like drama-queens etc ask yourselves if your actions might have a direct impact on what is happening now?

of course, a new AFC Cardiff wouldnt be the same as the club we grew up with, but it would/could be more "our" club than the red CCFC currently is.

and what options do we have?

- support a rebranded club, that feels foreign to oneself? honestly, at this very moment, I feel more passion for Wrexham...
- pick a different club to support after all these years?
or
- try to establish a new local club along many of your old mates, trying to carry on the traditions and identity of your beloved original club. not the same, no...but better than the first option

yes, it is just a game, but for many of us our CLUB (not the name or the colour) matters most. imagine Tan would have left us blue but changed crest and name? my reaction, my feeling would be the same as it is now. it is unacceptable, its not just a name, its not just a colour, its not just a crest...it is our CLUB, our heritage, our identity, our tradition, our passion...

if you find that funny? well, cant help you then...

:ayatollah: BLUEBIRDS :ayatollah:
