has anyone made anyone bankrupt ? advice please

Sat Feb 23, 2013 1:55 pm

As many of you know I've had a ongoing case against someone who owes me money for three years now. Even through I've managed to get a CCJ against them not a penny has ever been paid. I've got bailiffs involved and all sorts and still nothing.

So I've taken the step to go for bankruptcy and just wondered if anyone has gone down this avenue with a debtor and what was the outcome ? I know they own their own mortgaged house and have recently come into some money so I should be able to get something back.

Just wondering what happened to others going down this avenue ?

bankrupcy is totally different from ccj's you would probably be doing them a favour making them bankrupt

Yeah I know what you mean mate but at least I will feel a lot better in myself after what they have put me and ny family through during the last three years. After speaking to the court bailiffs they told need that the only way they pat up is when a bankruptcy case is on them as they have served others on them and all of a sudden they get the money from somewhere. I hope that it's the same thing here but if not I'll get a slice on the sale of their house anyway.

It would cost you £1000 plus solicitors fees you would have to prove they owe you over £750. Mediation would be easier.

I'm sure some people on this forum still have ridsdales number. Who better to advise you on bankruptcy than him

I've already started the bankruptcy proceedings and yes it cost me over a grand with the court date being 13th March. Believe me I have tried all avenues throughout this three years and f**k it I'm going for it now!!!

why put up a thread for advice about it if you already started proceedures, you must have
had advice to begin with to start.very strange

because I would like to know what experiences they have had as what the judge decides seems to be compeltely on the day. Many solicitors tell me that you can never guess what the judge does in civil matters.
