Also using part of an image is classed as copyright infringement unless you have the permission of the creator. Even if you alter the image to tweak it slightly its still infringement.

Your best bet would be to use another bluebird design or to seek permission from the creator if possible.

I would advise that you come up with an original design to be honest that someone at the club can take credit and rights for. That way there is no threat of someone later popping up and saying 'that is my design'.

Get someone with Photoshop skills in your group to come up with a few designs after coming to ideas as a group and then have a vote on those original designs as to which one to use. Then file the designs as part of the clubs paperwork in a folder with the details of the creator and get him to sign it to state its fine to use the design.

This is obviously a lot to do but if you want the club set up properly with no legal issues down the pipeline that could render this club bankrupt as these issues can be costly, you're better off doing it properly from the beginning and covering yourselves from all corners.

Sound advice. Nothing to do with me however, I was just thinking about this pheonix club and how it can win supporters. Thought that by having the old badge secured would be massive for them as not only does it kill any chance of the current club getting that badge back (which may sway any supporters waiting for a return to the norm) and also it will have a true Cardiff city representation rather than an equally empty shell of the club.

Not sure it will work to be honest as it isn't solving the issue at hand, the issue is that our Cardiff city FC is being transformed and killed.
