OK This is for The Pro Red Dragons Brigade

Fri Feb 22, 2013 6:04 pm

Question

Be honest,

would you be spitting at us pro Blue supporters telling us to do one, to get over it, laughing at starting facebook groups, looking into a new Bluebirds AFC, funny looks for wearing blue etc, etc. etc

if

we were mid table or worse?

(sensible non sniping answers please, I appreciate we are top of the league, but the red vitriol towards us is surely based on exactly that, the Prem is in sight, there is no way this would be happening if we werent top, you know what that makes the reds, right?) ;)

They wouldn't even be here, they're only here for the Premier League.

Exactly, if it go's tits up and we're back in the lower leagues in a couple of years, the reds will be gone and the club will be changing to blue, to get us blues back.

No red reply says it all, I am not a name caller, I respect their decision, but some would call them glory hunting plastic sell outs! ;)

Im not going to answer that based on the fact the majority of the sniping is coming from the blue side of the arguement, people of this forum who are pro the changes are mostly afriad to lift their head above the proverbial parapet for fear of being tarnished a 'plastic sell out tw*t'

If we were mid table it would have nothing to do with being red. It would be a failure on Malky, his staff and his player's not Tan. If it's keeping the team I SUPPORT out of serious trouble (admin and so on) I'm happy.

Is that why some of the most ardent anti reds who have described the rebrand as "Disgusting" and declared CCFC to be dead have signed up for another year coincidentally because we are top of the league?

The OP has a fair question but honestly this question also needs to be asked. Would the anti reds be renewing in such high numbers if we were mid table? The answer to both questions will be very similar.

I don't know any fans who are 100% pro red (and I know a lot of city fans),just fans who are willing to accept the changes to move our club forward, 99.9% of us would prefer to stay blue and keep the old crest but the chance to be in the prem with an owner who has big bucks is worth it.... IF Tan changes the name or removes the bluebird I would cancel my ST...onwards and upwards!.. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Fistly may I say that I have neve r slagged off anybodies point of view regarding the rebrand ......but I did accept it myself and yes I would still be happy if we were midtable after all I did buy my s/t before the season started so there was no way to tell how we would perform ............but I'm also not daft enough to think that we are top of the table because we are now in red ..........that is soley down to the work ethic of our manager and his team.....and after 37 seasons of support its lovely to see and if I now have wear a red shirt to show my loyalty then so be it .....

Its better than possibly having no side to support because that was the direction we were heading imo

Re: OK This is for The Pro Red Dragons Brigade

I appreciate all peoples opinions on the rebrand, however after Tuesday night it is not for me the football club I loved, the club my Father took me to see for my first game in 1968 against Hamburg as long gone. The soul has been ripped out, and replaced with a corporate monstrosity that kneels at everything that is soulless and empty in modern day football. I have renewed my season Ticket for next season, however after seeing the rebranding in all its glory on Tuesday I will be selling my ticket. I waited 45 years for the big league, but I will not be going .
Once my season ticket arrives I will sell for face value.

Cheers all

why should we f**k off now to be replaced by some newbie c**t?

Theres a lot who hate the red who have been through all the shit times, why should we f**k off now?

we can still support the team and hate the red

Re: OK This is for The Pro Red Dragons Brigade

Polo, off course we can, I'll never like the red and I really don't understand people that do.

However, if you love Cardiff City more than you hate the rebrand then it's hard to walk away, you just have to draw a line under it and move on. My gripe is with people who are slating Tan saying they are going to fight the club tooth and nail, fans who have declared Cardiff City to be dead but still renew, why is the question? It's hypocritical to blast Tan and moan about it whilst you put money in the club enjoying the fruits of his investment.

How is he supposed to know he's done wrong when he has a stadium full of fans who were there long before he got here?

You make no sense.

If we f**k off like you have been suggesting for days we get replaced by more new fans who dont really care for the colour.

Tan dont care. He would only care if he had an empty stadium which isnt gping to happen.

Just because someone will fill your seat next season doesn't mean you have to renew. I haven't been suggesting anyone fucks off Polo, I just think it's hypocritical to complain about Tan whilst paying him for the privilege. Unfortunately the only way he'll ever change his mind is when he is confronted with an empty stadium which like you said is unlikely but even more unlikely whilst the hardcore anti reds still go.

And why shouldnt I renew just because I hate the red?

Its not hypocrotical at all. I was here a long time before Tan and I will be here a long time after him.

He or you wont force me out.

Not trying to force you out Polo and neithers Tan. It's not hypocritical to hate the red and renew it's hypocritical to moan about it and have a go at Tan over it all, we have renewed, therefore we have financially backed his plan and sadly that is all he cares about.

It's a bit like these Man u fans bellowing out their "Love United, hate Glazier" rubbish with RVP and champ19ns on their backs.

Utter bollocks.

Im not paying Tan for any privelage, or any plan. Im paying to go down and support the team I supported long before he turned up, and if I want to have a moan about the colour, or Rudy I will, cos I paid for ticket and I can do what I like.

You moan about Malky so continuing to support his team makes you a hypocrite by your logic.

Completely different, I am not disgusted by Malky or protesting against him. People are very angry with what Tan has done to this club. Malky playing a donkey up front is not akin to changing a whole clubs identity and I think you can appreciate the major difference.

Polo, your in my shoes more than you think. Your not red, your not blue, your Cardiff City and you renewed to watch your club play football, just like me. I just don't see the logic in signing up to something you hate, I haven't embraced the red, I don't like the red, I have just appreciated that the best thing to do is draw a line under it because he won't change his mind, not ever.

Wrong. Ive signed up to support my team, i didnt sign up to sit in the stands like a scouse c**t in a red scarf.

And for the record I dont hate Tan. Im grateful he invested and acknowledge that without him we may not have this weird Cardiff City. I just think theres a culture clash, and I am more fucked off with the so called reluctant reds for what they did
on Tuesday.

I refrain from using the word sell out but as a fan base we rolled over on Tuesday.

Call me paranoid but that sent a big green light for more changes.

Mid table is still better than Pompey or non existant. Tan SAVED CCFC, doesn't anyone see that?

We are in the same position then, what is the problem? We both appreciate what Tan has done for us, we both want to support the team, we both do not like the rebrand and we have both renewed our season ticket. I didn't take a scarf on Tuesday but the reality is most fans did. They have accepted and embraced the red as a fanbase, time for the minority to get over it, draw a line under the ordeal and move on.
