REST WHITTS

Thu Feb 21, 2013 4:48 pm

He was winning games for us in the first half of the season SINGLE HANDEDLY almost. He doesn't look a danger at the moment. It seems like he is out of ideas and his confidence is not there.

Against Brighton the other night is a prime example of his confidence not being there. He was in a shooting position 25 yards out quite a few times but instead of pulling the trigger (like he would have, at the start of the season) he decided to pass it.

We got the strength in depth. Bring Kim Bo, Ralls, Cowie or even Mutch into the centre for a couple of games alongside Gunnarsson. Give Whitts a couple of games off, see how we cope then bring him back in. :ayatollah:

Most of our play goes through him. Can't see any reason to drop him or how that would do his confidence any good. That's if he is lacking confidence of course.

He's not tired. Malky hasn't been playing to his strengths. He's been playing too deep and I think he'll be back on the score sheet soon if he plays higher up field. We can't afford to experiment at this stage of the season, We need him in the starting 11 :ayatollah:

No, don't

People think if hes not smashing in goals hes doing nothing. What a load of nonsense.

His role has massively changed and I liken it now to Carricks at Man U. It means hes ticking play over, keeping posession, setting up attacks. Thats obviously what Malky want.

Thought he hasn't been on top form he makes difficult skills/situations look very easy.

Whitts at 75% is better than any of those options in CM. Drop him for Ralls or Cowie ffs. At this stage of the season

You would be first over the fence to have a go at Malky if we don't go up and I bet you will say "Why the f**k did you drop Whitts during our run in".

He doesn't need a rest, we have had few weekends off. If he dissapears in games (Which is far rarer than people think) he should be replaced, he's good enough to be given the chance to get it right from the start because when he does he's exceptional.

Just give a hand every now and then. Most games its gunnar and Whitts against 4. Our 4 forwards couldn't hit a barn door on Tuesday, not Whitts fault........
