Steve, the red shirt was a poor design, the badge was anything but a proper badge and the Cardiff is just most likely done out of ignorance.
Whoever is following Tans orders are bloody amateurs.

Bollocks to Tan.
We support Cardiff City FC the Bluebirds.
Change our name, colour and badge and try to rip the heart out of the club but you will never kill Cardiff City.

Having asked the club this, their response was that it was just how was designed. No intentions to drop the City part.
When I pointed out that the club had gone to great lengths to ensure media outlets included the City part in the name before, I was told that was irrelevant.
Make of that what you will.

Cardiff Malaysians FC maybe Hmmmm
Thu Feb 21, 2013 3:00 pm
Rules in the league against this sort of thing happening, maybe down to lack of space, maybe down to saving money, maybe just a miscalculation Tan's part that he didn't think people would worry so much about it.

The minimum any club badge should have on is the name of the club on it.

Im not saying clubs dont have the name, clearly as you have pointed out clubs do but for me it should always say the name.

I first watched Cardiff in the early 60's when my dad started taking me, he would always say we were off to watch "The City". In those days there was no badge on the shirt and then the word "Bluebirds" appeared followed by a white disc with the bluebird inside and later the words Cardiff City Football Club was added.
Can't remember who introduced the badge that only a few years ago was voted the fans "Favorite" but VT would do well to remember that the "Fans" chose that badge and if he has any doubts about that he can test the popularity of the abortion of a badge he has introduced against our old fans favourite.
That is a test his whole rebrand will fail against, not having people take his freebie scarf with the red bird on and "City" missing. I declined the scarf on Tuesday and was accused by some idiot of being childish but i don't care because to many of my generation we are, have been and always will be "The City".
Thu Feb 21, 2013 9:21 pm
I appreciate all peoples opinions on the rebrand, however after Tuesday night it is not for me the football club I loved, the club my Father took me to see for my first game in 1968 against Hamburg as long gone. The soul has been ripped out, and replaced with a corporate monstrosity that kneels at everything that is soulless and empty in modern day football. I have renewed my season Ticket for next season, however after seeing the rebranding in all its glory on Tuesday I will be selling my ticket. I waited 45 years for the big league, but I will not be going .
Once my season ticket arrives I will sell for face value.

There is a badge at either end of the scarf, albeit the new unpopular badge, which both state Cardiff City!
The white seats in the Ninian Stand, which have been there for 4 years now, only spell out Cardiff and not Cardiff City!
Everybody likes a conspiracy theory, so was this also part of VT's plan to change our identity as well and why didn't anybody complain about the lack of City in the seats in the Ninian stand, when the stadium was first built?
Just people stirring IMO!

I think all those who didn't want to accept the red scarf on Tuesday night should be respected for their views, but so should those of us who were happy to take the scarf and wear it proudly as our new colours.
I have many blue scarves at home that I own proudly and I now have two red scarves that I own equally as proudly.
My impression of the vast majority of fans within the stadium on tuesday night show that the rebrand test is not failing, but in fact seems to be highly supported, but I suppose that's a matter of opinion.
As for the ommission of the word "City", my view is that there is nothing behind that - just the aesthetics of the scarves.
