The Man is surely to get his 3rd best actor award for his portrayal as Abraham Lincoln.
When you look at his CV and the diversity in his acting roles, winning Oscars for his role as Christy Brown in My Left Foot and its complete opposite character as Daniel Plainview in There Will Be Blood his Second award winning performance. In between them you had Bill the butcher Cutting from Scorsese's Gangs of New York and his excellent portrayal alongside the brilliant but late Pete Postlewaite,In the name of the Father as Gerry Conlon.
When you include Last of the Mohicans aswell he has shown a wide and varied style of acting and proof that he is probably the greatest Method actor of his or many generations.

Daniel Day-Lewis for sure. The guy is an absolute legend. I also rate Ryan Gosling. If you haven't seen Lars and the Real Girl he is amazing in that. He's also cool as f**k in Drive. Lots of decent actors and actresses around at the moment to be fair. Jennifer Lawrence could win 3-4 Oscars in her career at least if she keeps going as she is.
