Put the Canton fans in the Family Stand , And the family fans in the canton. This is the only way we are going to get any Atmosphere going between the Ninian and the Grange ,With the away fans were they are ,Then we will have the banter like how it was Or it will die. :ayatollah:

Why hasn't anyone else come up with this new unique idea. 8-)
It will solve all the problems. Wonder if they#ll move Liverpool's Kop as well, I can see this catching on. :malky:

Not going to happen unfortunately , the ground was set out like this for that very reason to calm fans down which in turn reduces arrests and policing costs and it has worked perfectly .
Why would they risk all that hard work to let fans swap ?
They won't want to have to pay to change the underneath of the concourses around including signs , kids games , stadium plans on tickets posters and websites .
Will everybody in the family stand want to move ?
Will everybody in the canton want to move ?
What happens with groups who may no longer be able to sit together ?
Plus a lot more
So much involved in doing that mate it's just never going to happen unfortunately because it would make a big difference

Away fans claiming that they cannot hear the canton end, imagine how loud the ground would be if they were next to the away stand.

A change of stand seating arrangements is not going to happen for several good reasons , all of which have been explained in depth on this messageboard and elsewhere for many months.

However , just to take your point forward logically:-

1) why does it matter what away fans can or cannot hear?

2) would not the ground only be loud at one end and therefore not heard by most of the rest of the ground?

3) why is it necessary to be near the away fans to make a noise anyway?

It would improve the atmosphere, but the problem is the away fans as it stands get bused in and out ,without them having to cross any home fans,if the ends were to swap,we d be in the same situation ,as Ninian park where home and away fans have to cross each other to get to turnstiles

No the point being, if we think our atmosphere is decent at times and away fans come on here saying they could hardly hear us sing then it's a bit worrying. I'm not saying swapping ends will generate an atmosphere because they can wind away fans up, but by singing as they do will show away fans we can produce a good atmosphere.
Take this point and tell me what your opinion is:
At Ninian park, if the grange end was swapped with the family stand BUT the away section stayed where it was, would the atmosphere be as good?
How often do you see clubs generating an atmosphere that's impressive without a big section of fans near the away fans? liverpool is one, can't think of many others.

next season the home fans will be completly drowned out as the away fans will have almost half of the family stand :ayatollah: :old: :ayatollah:

My question was why you were so worried about what visiting supporters think about whether or not they can hear singing from the home fans? Aren`t we there to support our players? As long as they can hear the support (and they frequently say in the press they can) , isn`t that what matters. If we wanted to win a singing contest , we can put a team into Eurovision :!:

Ninian Park could generate crowd noise at times because its openness facilitated it.But its a total myth to say it always did , however close or far away from visiting fans the more vocal home fans were.

To appreciate crowd noise at clubs you have to actually be there , rather than watch on TV where the background noise is artificially controlled by the editors. I am sure most fans find it noisy if they are by the main singing sections , whether or not they are also close to the away fans.

I believe most of the bigger European leagues locate away fans at the opposite end of the ground to the vocal home fans.Hasn`t spoiled the atmosphere for me when I have been at games in places like Milan , Madrid , Berlin , Barcelona , Krakow etc

I don't think the current stadium holds the crowds noise in very well and I agree that Ninian park wasn't always great but was better than the CCS.
I don't think enough is done by the club to get the crowd going but over the past couple of seasons I have witnessed our fans becoming even lazier when it comes to backing the team.
Having a swap in stands would definitely benefit us but I can't see it happening anytime soon.
The tv editors make grounds with 7,000 attendances sound like they're at the san siro
