Serious question

Wed Feb 20, 2013 11:01 am

Is selling your soul for a season in the premiership (thats if you don't f**k it up) really worth it.

You seem to be embracing the red as if it's normal.

As a club you must be bottom rung of the ladder, one below Milton Keynes Dons.

It must be awful to have this stigma attached when you could possibly achieve something you haven't done for over 50 years.

Those who say "couldn't give a f**k what colour" are surely turning a blind eye, deep down you must feel devastated that you can't enjoy the ride to it's full maximum potential. It will always be tinged with a downside.

Thoughts please. :happy1:

My thoughts are that even though you're probably posting this on the wind-up, it's still spot on.

Too be honest pal, i do feel a bit for the genuine Cardiff City fans who oppose the rebrand.

Having gone through the highs of getting to the premiership, some of that would surely be missing should you make it after a rebrand.

I thought there would be some sort of resistance to the rebrand from a club like Cardiff City, it appears people are happy with it.

If that was my club, i don't believe for one minute it would happen.

the majority of dyed in the wool bluebirds would have preferred to had your type of structure post Petty, but we had no option but to take the overseas investment. The constant winding up orders saw to that. The Swansea model is pretty unique and rare. We've just been blessed with raving f*cking lunatics at the helm. Hardly any clubs get run the way the fans want it to. Ask Manchester United

Despite your 'mickey-taking' tone, I will answer in simple terms (not neccessarily my own opinion but pretty accurate):

TIME IS A GREAT HEALER AND PROMOTION WILL GALVANISE SUPPORT IN THESE PARTS ;)

Nobody questions YOUR club selling its own soul to avoid accumualated debt and changing to a red, white and green kit to show you're Welsh anymore, do they? :?

And how will you feel representing ENGLAND in Europe IF you win the (your fans words) Mickey mouse Cup on Sunday? ;)

Thoughts please  :ayatollah:

This .... This I have heard from fans of many others clubs, and think it's rubbish, if foreign owner come to a Championship club in serious debt and said we are going to put £100m into the club to upgrade facilities, buy players, etc ... They would bite their hands off for it.

That kit is our away kit. We are still white in the main. We've had the gold stripes incorporated this season as it's our centenary season. I have no problem with that at all. The away kit is a decent touch, welsh colours for a welsh team in the premiership.

As for representing England (if we win the cup) I have no problem with that either as we are governed by the English FA, what are the alternatives, representing Wales and playing TNS week in week out. I'm pretty sure the answer would have been the same last season had you beaten Liverpool.

Was going alright until he said 'it wouldn't happen at my club'. We would have said exactly the same if it were another team.

Realistically, it happened so quickly and with so little warning that we were essentially powerless. That's not to say some fans don't care (as shown last night) however the 'it wouldn't happen here!' argument is a non-starter.

Ah, but it (the kit) was still a change of identity! ;) :ayatollah:

As for the Europe thing, I would have accepted representing the Engish League if that is what it required ;) :ayatollah:

My point is you have nothing to come on here and spout about really, do you?  :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Re: Serious question

You don't identify a club by what colour their away kit is. :?

Re: Serious question

Wed Feb 20, 2013 4:36 pm

I beg to differ. A club is 'identified' by EVERYTHING it does; whether that be it's kit, it's stadium, its fan base or even its playing style ;)

My point about Swansea was that their supporters can hardly come over here and take the mick as they are NO DIFFERENT to any other club in reality (only with less morals in the case of their DEBT dodging) ;) :ayatollah:
