Red and dead

Wed Feb 20, 2013 9:48 am

Judging from last night it very much appears as if we are red and our history in blue is dead. Not only did 90% of fans happily wear the red scarves but inside the hospitality area all photos of us playing in blue have now been removed and replaced with players in red.

All this talk that we only have to put up with it for a few years and when Tan goes we will revert to blue is nonesense. Once we play in the premier league in red thats the end of it, we are branded as a red club. And once Tan turns the seats and stadium red do you really think a new owner (unless he is a hardcore old skool Cardiff fan) is going to willingly go back to blue just to appease what now looks to be a minority of support?

Another sad part of last night was the realisation how far down the road Tan has won.

A new owner coming in and turning the clock back.....no chance. Well most likely will get a new owner but for going back to blue, well we have sold out that hope.

I hope City get to the premier league like all of our fans but the moment i cannot wait for which could be many years is when Cardiff City have their identity back. If we do reach the PL next season I think we might all be surprised how many old school city fans will come out and support us. A lot of fans will always wear blue which is always good to see :ayatollah:

Imagine if the red becomes so accepted and entrenched that should the club at some time in the future ( say post Tan) decide to go back to blue, it's possible that all the anti-red fans will have either given up supporting CCFC by then or may be dead.

There could then be massive opposition to going back to blue!

There could be a "Keep Cardiff Red" movement.

Free blue scarves may be thrown on the pitch.

And the local businessman trying to turn us back to blue could be vilified for trying to take us back to the "Dark Ages".

I can see it now!
