" WE HAD A CHOICE TONIGHT "

Wed Feb 20, 2013 12:37 am

I had the following words posted to me tonight on Fb and they in my opinion said a lot.

We had No threats of Red or Bust, No threats from other fans, No threats that if we never accepted them Tan would walk.
Very true words in my opinion.

We've dealt with a red kit purely as we had no choice. But we did have a choice to not wear red tonight and send a message but we blew it. yes, they did love it. disgraceful

I didn't blow it.

The result doesn't even matter tonight. I don't even care that we're top of the league. I'd take conference football now if everything Cardiff City could be blue again but it turns out there's only a small minority of us.

This was the worst I have ever felt watching my beloved Bluebirds, it was truly embarrassing, a sea of vile red that the new fan lapped up like little puppies, sickening

Annis, it was Shambolic. I was ashamed.

If anyone was there tonight tells me that they think that it's still the same club, they're delusional.

Annis, i just don't get our fans.

From being at the game tonight and seeing 20,000 red scarves being worn you'd have thought that our fans have accepted this rebrand...

Yet reading the reaction from 90% of the people on this forum tonight, it seems that people are disgusted by it and even some pro-reds seem to be finally realising what's happening to our club...

Cardiff City is pretty much dead to me in all but club name right now, and it's horrible to see, but could tonight backfire on Tan?

Or after the disappointment of the result dies down tomorrow, will people go back to forgetting about the rebrand because we're top of the league.

I honestly don't know, but all i know is that for me, tonight was sickening, and i hope it's been the kick up the arse some of fans needed to finally stand up for our club and not roll over like we have done up to now.

Speak for yourself, not everyone else. I have my own opinion and didn't blow anything.

I took the scarf but didn't wear it. I'm more concerned about our form and the result tonight. I feel we are destined for the play offs. Yes I'd prefer to be blue but honestly think we will be back in blue in the next few years. VT will sell us at some point and the new owners will change us back. I can ride this phase.

When are you going to realise that it is only NOT RENEWING your season tickets that will get Tan to change his mind. Off course our seats will be taken but thats no reason not to do it.

I am sorry, you cannot say you are disgraced and disgusted about tonight on one hand while arranging your ST for next season in the other.

Annis, you have a choice now. Do hate it that much that you are willing to walk away or are you going to support Tan because renewing your ticket for next season is supporting the Malaysians whether you like it or not.

Re: " WE HAD A CHOICE TONIGHT "

I just posted this in another thread

Cardiff City was formed in 1899 by Bristol born Bartley Wilson as a way of keeping players from the Riverside Cricket Club together and in shape during the winter months. The colours worn by the club were chocolate and amber quarters, quite unusual for the time

Do you think they moaned this much when they xhanged to blue?? Get over yourselves! Would you rather see your team in red and doing well both on and off the pitch or see them in blue possibly relegated and rending up like Portsmouth??? Does a colour really outweigh the positives???

We have become the laughing stock of british football and sitting back watching it happen to our club for the price of premiership football I'm embarresed to say the least

Don't you understand that people who post on message boards don't even make up 5% of the fans who attend games

I wore my bluebirds scarf with pride, admittedly I wouldn't have worn any scarf this evening, had the club not tried ramming a red one down our throats, it was my own silent protest!

so Vincent Tan can take his fookin Schindler's list jacket and red scarf and burn them for all i care!

I won't wear a red cardiff city home shirt for as long as I live, and no amount of Malaysian ringjit will change that

It may be too late, but for the next games, blue has to be the standout, tonight the crowd may have been a sea full of red but with so many peoples heads turning the other way after seeing this, if they are still to go to games, we should make as much racket with blue merchandise as we can.

What, all the very small minority of you? Get with the bigger picture, the majority of fans are happy with it,, there is no problem

You were told months ago, time and time and time again. And people were getting banned off is message board for it. Roath magic was the best poster here and was run out of town because the majority didnt agree that what was happening to Cardiff was a good thing.

Now look at you all, you all sound like roath magic reincarnated. You had your chance and you blew it.

Great post from the other mb.....

"If the new Cardiff are those who accept the change so wholeheartedly...I'm out.

If the new Cardiff want to laud a facist owner...I'm out.

If the new Cardiff are full of red scarf wearing scabs...I'm out.

The rinsing of the club was bad enough, but this added to the spurious political activities of Tan means enough is enough. To see the red scarves worn with glee by the Man Ure and Liverpoo jonny come latelys has turned my stomach.

I tried to go balls deep but the patheticness of the fans and the people of Cardiff means I can no longer IDENTIFY WITH THEM OR THE CLUB.

I always thought we had our issues but were ultimately solid in our priciples and solidarity. That is clearly not the case.

So basically **** them all and **** all the Reds...reluctant my arse. You are sellout scum pure and simple, even knowing of the human rights abuses you still adore Tan. I hope you all get what you deserve and I'll be back when we change back to blue and you ****s have ****ed off back to being plastic scousers."
